Anyone carry a knife of $1200 range?

Sure, pretty frequently as a matter of fact. I'm not going to leave something that nice in a safe to be neglected--I want to enjoy it. I feel the same about my EDC watches, which cost significantly more than my knives. They are there to be used and enjoyed.

Not yet...

However, I have been known to carry more than 2K worth in the form of two or three 'cheapo' knives...

:)

For me my fav. knives don't usually go past 7-800 dollars. Them being Striders, Mad Dogs and Busse's.
But then again, only tactical knives are interesting to me.

I carry my Emerson CQC6 everyday - it is my all time favorite knife. Now that I have had it for a while, I no longer think about its cost, kind of like my Rolex watch. The value of these items is that they look good and work without too much thought or attention.

Holding true to my nickname of "Tightwad" ( I actually
earned the nickname, LOL) there is no way I'd even
consider a knife of any kind for any reason in a price
range above $150. To me that spending that kind of
money on a knife is financial insanity. If other folk's
have the money and wish to use it for knives , well
I can think of lots of other expendatures that are
far worse so they should go for it.

Like Para I carry knives that are worth far more than $1200, but not just one. They all get used. Would I carry and use a $1200 knife? Sure why not if that's what I bought it for.

Why don't stamp collectors get asked if, "Hey, you gonna mail a letter with that $1200 stamp?" Or coin collectors if they're gonna use that rare coin in a vending machine. But, on the other hand would you ask somebody who just bought a $1200 watch or a custom made suit if they were going to wear it?

A $1,200 dollar knife? Hell yeah I would would use it. Of the production knives I own and could carry, I only carry my custom Dale Reif Matrix, not exactly $1,200 (it's $450.00), but that's what I bought it for. Not to use a knife of that caliber woud be a waste. I bought a custom a year ago and I didn't use it at all. I ended up trading it and now I wish I had used it. You only live once:) .

I don't own a $1200 knife but like some other folks on this thread, I often carry more than $1200 worht of knives on me. To put things in perspective all of us knife nuts, even Tightwad with $150 limit are willing to pay an extravagant amount of money on knives by everyday standards. To most people, even spending $30 on a Buck or SAK is really going whole hog. Most of us would see that amount as the bare minimum that one would have to spend to get a decent knife.

Yes (but I drive cheap cars) :D
Here is my nicest folder to date.

Yes, i carry my CQC6 and have carried my CQC9 and plan on to carry my new ESM1 today for the first time. I have some expensive guns and watches also and it would be a sin not to use these. Hell i worked hard enough to get them.

$1,200 ?!! That's more money than there is in the whole wide world!

I'm mainly interested in using knives, so no way would I spend that much on a knife. But good for those who make them, who buy them, and who use them. Lucky you.
