just EXACTLY the info i was looking for.

the 'cool factor' is obviously present in this blade style. i am glad to find that it is practical as well.

thanks for the input on the 'evolution' and the 'mirage' i will give both of them some consideration.

i have a Caffrey warncliff folder coming (sometime around Christmas), but the evolution, or the mirage sounds like something i can satisfy my appetite with for now.

Yaa a Warncliff is one of my Absolute favorite knives to carry...

Not only do they cut Real nice thay are Way easy to sharpen...

Although mine is slightly a variant of Jeff's Talon,, one I've dubbed the the "Warlock"

Exact same blade style,,except for the scales which are Carbon Fiber over G-10 with slightly different handle configuration...
Unfortunately I don't have a picture...

As far as utilitarian knives go,, a Warncliff is by Far my Favorite....

When I ordered my Wharncliffe from Micheal at Running Dog...he mentioned that it was his EDC...

Isn't the shape of paring knife blades the wharncliffe pattern? If so, then you have the answer to what they would do best. After all, the design of all these kitchen knives evolved over years of the cook or chef demanding precisely what would get the job done. (Though I must say that the Chinese Chopper/cleaver is one pretty versatile kitchen knife)

So, lots of light, delicate slicing work, which I'm sure a small pocket knife would see. Probably not useful as a larger fixed blade.
 
Some great knives in this thread.

Can anyone suggest a top maker for a small talonite fixed blade wharncliff for every day carrying purpose?
