Anyone change scales on "Needs WorK"?

Ah, that's right. I apologize man. I was looking back at my FS thread and you were the only one who posted in the thread- the guy who bought it had e-mailed me.

normally when i miss a sale, i can take solace in the fact that another one will come up eventually. unfortunately, i will probably never see a needs work like that ever again. it's all good though, not like i don't have plenty of orange kershaws to play with. :p

If you ever have a Needs Work laying around, I'd be more than happy to make a set of scales for you.

Just curious if you make them to sell for others - if so I would be interested. If not no problem. Just checking.

I'm looking for the all Black Needs Work and would love to see some black G10 on it! That would be a fun one for me.

Wow, what a beauty!
Solidorange now owns this one I did a while back. Its slightly thinner than the stock model but it feels so much better with G10 rather than the plastic.

I'm "that guy" who know owns it! It's a sweet package that's nice and slim in the pocket. The assist is gone making it a very nice flipper. I tend to carry it at work when a knife clipped to the pocket is not doable.

Brian, very glad you are enjoying it! I like it much more without the clip too.

Does the normal plastic needs work have full liners, or are they part of the custom package? I only have the g10 one. But I'd love to mod a plastic one or 3 if its easy.

The plastic needs work does have full liners. Making the scales isnt terribly difficult but it takes some practice. The only thing thats a pain about speedsafe knives in regard to custom scales is that they (the scales) need to be milled out on the inside to accomodate the torsion bar. All the ones I have done I just removed the torsion bar.

Does the plastic need to be destroyed to get to the liners? Or is it held on with hardware? I think it may be time for me to pick one up.

NO...I took mine off so that I could take a dremel to them and sand them down.
