Anyone collecting Buck Counterfits?

I think the guy is a dealer that closed up shop and is trying to sell his inventory. Any moron would know you can't get retail or wholesale prices on items that are 4-5 years old especially when there is nothing fancy about the items. I mean 20.00 on a plain jane Mayo, not to me. 50.00 for a 100th anniversary 110 with the handle badge but no box and an aftermarket nylon sheath:eek:. Dude lay off whatever you're smoking!:D

He told me his brother passed away and had a lot of stuff.

I think he's just going through the phase of listing things first at a high price because he's not that familiar with values.

He seemed like an ok guy from the e-mail responses I got. Genuinely confused about some of the stuff and I'm sure boxes and sheaths and such will be mixed up some.

Might bear watching. The prices will go down, I'm guessing.

That may very well be true. But, what's gonna happen is he will sell all the knives that have a value and then want some schnook to buy the rest at a ridiculous price. We were gonna offer him 3K for everything sight unseen and see what we ended up with but he came back and wanted 6K. That's too much coin to risk. If he had given us a list, we might have very well have uped the offer, but no list, no way. The last thing I told him was "good luck selling them".

I bought a Harley Motor Tool (multi-tool) from him.

It was NIB and I can't find one anywhere else......seems like they quit making that older Leatherman style a while back and went to a new cheap model.

I see somebody grabbed the FG 110 that he had......that was a decent buy with free shipping.

He seems to specialize in multi-tools of various kinds.

I'm glad you found something you wanted and hope it's want you expected when you get it. But as for me, I'm done with him.

Purchased a buck/strider and the same thing happened to me from a seller here. Consider me a collector too. I still have it if anyone is looking for one. :)
