Anyone dye the izula 1 scales?

I was wondering if anyone has tried to dye the micarta scales for the izula with rit dye or leather dye or anything. My ladyfriend has a pink izula and i thought about getting some scales and dying them pink. Input? Thanks, -Tyler

i've done it.
first use the RIT color removing solution, then the dye. this is how they came out

also, after you dye them, the liner on the inside will be swollen from absorbing the dye. let it dry out for atleast a day. i was impatient, and ended up ripping the liners off of the scales

it was "tangerine" colored RIT dye
