The van Winkle does live up to the hype.

and then some. there is no equal, in my opinion.

I like the 15yr best, then the 12yr, then the 20yr, then the 10yr 107proof.

I don't care for the 23yr, nor the 10yr 90proof.

The Blantons is bottled in the same distillery I believe, and is pretty darn good.

yeah, but so are many many other expressions. I'm not crazy about Blantons. From the Buffalo Trace facility, I'd much rather have George T Stagg or Elmer T Lee or a few different Wellers or even regular Buffalo Trace.

Makers is an ok Wheater, but I'll take a Weller at half the price any day, and the Van Winkles just kill it. Makers is like the Fat Tire of Bourbon... pretty good, clever packaging, and marketed very well - thus very popular (good, but not in line with the hype and certainly no where near the best).
