Anyone else enjoying their Kershaw Link?

I've heard a lot of good things about this knife. You guys are tempting me.

And it works well and has good retention when deassisted? I like the knife but am not a fan of assisted opening.

Anybody want to post some size comparison shots next to some other well known knives?

If Kershaw used their 14c28n, I would be all over this. I hate to say this, but, man USA produced stuff for 40$ really cut corners on materials. But, they really made the design work for them, so I have to give them props for that. It's 2016, cant wait to see their updated links! And that assisted to manual conversion, love that option from Kershaw. Also, if they can get that dark purple on a leek, that would be fantastic! Really reminds me of the zt copperhead (Forgot the number) which is well over 3x the price.

I don't carry it everyday. But I'm diggin' it. I have the aluminum handled ZT 0770 too and the handle on the Link is more hand filling. It's a nice inexpensive blade.

The Link is awesome. I regularly carry a Link and its become a favorite of mine, up there with the Blur.

I rotate a Link in at work also, and its held up very well. My cutting tasks at work range from cutting cardboard to cutting fiberglass insulation and ceiling tiles, heck I even use it to jimmy door locks, and while it doesn't hold an edge like Elmax or s30v, it holds its edge well enough and it is very easy to get an edge back on it with a sharpmaker or even a couple of strops on some cardboard can get you back to a workable edge.

Given what the Link costs, I don't think there is a knife that can compare in its category. Built well enough to handle almost anything you ask it to do but will not put a dent in your wallet, especially given Kershaw has its starter series starting at around $20 and are imports. The Link is a domestic piece, made entirely in the US and can be found starting at $30. Plus it can be found in 5 variations and it can be deassisted as well!

I definitely recommend the Link and gave out a few during the holidays, each one already serving their owners extremely well.

Kershaw hit a home run with the Link and hopefully we see more models like it.

First post ever, late to the party here, but I bought a link in M390 this morning. it was between the zt 0770 (black aluminum version) and the m390 or s35vn version of the link but the color scheme kind of skewed me on the s35vn version. Excited to get it.

Yup, have the grey handle BW 420 blade. Just bought the M390 version and having someone here sharpen it for me..really put an edge on it BTW.

Very cool. So cal edc? Guessing you are a so cal guy as am I. Where is there a good place to get sharpened around here?

Got the link in the m390 , it's replaced the zt770 in my rotation

I also have a link in M390 for the last couple months, got it at Knifeworks for $78 at the time. It is a fantastic slicer, easy to sharpen to hair whittling sharp, and retains its edge really well. I wish they made a lighter G10 version versus the heavier (and SLIGHTLY slippery) aluminum handles. But I'd highly recommend the M390 version too, it's a bargain way to get into a premium steel.

Very cool. I actually ordered the 0770 then cancelled it and went for the link. I want both but I wanted the link more cause I prefer the blade shape and the m390. But damn not I want the 0770 again. Such is life. Maybe the od green version will be my next pick up

The od green is what the link replaced but inspired by @stabman (great thread "screw the warranty") I've decided to give the 770 a cosmetic makeover. Wish me luck

image.jpg I got caught up in two knife "rescues" so I haven't done much with the ZT but disassemble , trace and draw, stare and think. These two came to me as a chunk of rust from the bottom of a toolbox.
The shallot I only needed to disassemble, clean, and new hardware.
The leek was a complete rebuild. Hours I spent thinking of what I want to do with the 770, but I do keep glancing at the link thinking, hmmmm

Wow those two look great, I couldn't even tell they were ever in need of rescuing. That shallot really is a nice looking knife. I'm sure the 0770 project will unfold in time (no pun) if you want it to, although It's already such an aesthetic knife tho maybe it's not what you want to hack into it.

image.jpg I hear what your saying about not hacking the knife, but I have never really bonded with this one, so I'm thinking maybe a scale hack , something like this

I can understand that. One of those that you pick up and think it's going aww you and then when you get it out and flip it you are underwhelmed by it. Fully understand that. Is there a large aftermarket for that life by chance? As far as aftermarket scales etc?
