Anyone else feel this way?

Stag and jigged bone have been my favorites for years. For the worrystone effect, smooth bone or ebony works right now.

I like it all. The beauity of bone, the classic stag, and the carefree delrin. I especially like my case large stockman with bone scales as a worry stone. It has a notch on the backside that makes a great finger notch and rub the other side with my thumb. An abnormality that works in it's favor.

I love jigged bone and stag but there's definitely something about yellow Delrin as well.

I like woods and I'm starting to slide toward the acrylics. GEC has shown some real beauties lately.

Stag holds little appeal for me, but jigged bone sends me over the top. I also really like how dimensionally stable it is.

Nice stag is my favorite followed closely by jigged bone.

I've come to the conclusion that my two favorite handle materials for slipjoints are stag and jigged bone. Although I put my pocketknives to good use, I have to admit that I probably use them as a worry stone more than anything else. I often sit at my desk absentmindedly stroking a popcorny stag knife while reading. For this usage specifically, stag and jigged bone are superior materials. As beautiful as pearl and ivory are, they just aren't as texturally interesting.

I think this is one of the very first things I noticed I really liked, when I started collecting knives. I think, for me, it was probably a smooth wood handled knife that just felt so right in the hand. I also like to rub the handles with my thumb, it's very soothing. I've also grown to appreciate stag & smooth bone (jigged or not) for the same reasons. My most-often-carried EDC is a Case TB5339SS stag-handled sowbelly stockman.

And, over time, that constant rubbing with the thumb will add a little more 'polish' to the finish. So much the better... :)

No question, jigged bone for me. My thumb just needs to plant itself firmly on a nice jigged bone scale every now and then or things just 'ain't right' in Yobbosland.;)

Love the feel of my Case medium old red pocket worn stockman; it gets carried just for the worry stone feel.

I too am guilty of sittin' and absentmindedly strokin' jigged bone and stag as worry stones. :)
