Anyone else find themselves doing this ?

I am really dissapointed by the lack of knives i see on people these days. I am considering getting a boatload of kershaw scallions and just handing them out. that or the little leathermans.

Several years ago, I got a box of a dozen small Opinels to do just that, wish I had bought a dozen boxes.:grumpy:

Hmmm...take two Zyprexa and call me in the morning, Tostig. :p

I too have a strange affection for carbon steel kitchen knives and Old Hickory are da bomb!

Most folks do have crappy if not just dull knives in their kitchens. They end up in the drawers, the dishwasher, and often times the wrong knife is used.
You can only help so much sometimes.
I have a set of those Old Hickory Knives, some new ones aren't as thick as they used to be. I got a 5 pc. set from Knife Center that was the old style, just a few months ago. They have the worst edges on them, I've convexed 4 of them so far. Best "cheap" knives out there.

It amazes me that more people don't understand what a great value Old Hickory knives are. 1095 is a great carbon steel and the Old Hickories are heat treated well. I have one that I bought in college as my only kitchen knife at the time and it's still going strong. I reprofiled it a few years ago and now in use it as a small boning knife for processing deer every fall.

It's fascinating to see what kind of knives people prefer to carrying on them. Even more awesome when a cute chick is carrying a knife inside her back pant pocket ;)

Seems like most clips I see on guys pockets are one's that look like the sort of knife Big 5 would proudly carry. :D

Hahaha yes I admit to it all... :D hahaha just this last Friday I was over at a friend's house and his dad had a pocket clip portuding and it was a Benchmade 530 haha. After that I went into the kitchen to check out their kitchen knives :o
