Anyone else finding the 560/561 a little too large?

Purchased 3 ZTs with two of my sons last week via local dealers. My 21 year old immediately gravitated to the 0550/0551. My 16 year old settled on the 0200. I went convinced I needed/wanted the 0560, but ended up preferring the 0551. Each of us got the knife that felt best in our hand. I kept going back retrying the 0560 thinking it was the one for me, but that's why its best if you can handle all of them. I ordered and received the Hinderer Green/Black scale for my 0551. Now it's perfect (for me).

Kind of what I was thinking about the subject. I didn't buy the knife to EDC. I don't need nor like a blade this size in my pocket. Anything over 4" (closed) won't get EDCed. However I am surprised how it disappears in the pocket...until I bend over in certain ways.
I carry it when I go for a walk in non urban areas or hiking where a situation my arise that requires a larger blade. The 0550/51 fits my hand better though.

The size on many ZT's are too big for the majority, but then they are not produced for the majority. In many cases they are too big for me, but I sure like em, and glad I have em with me when needed.

I've had my 0560 for less than 24 hours, but one of my first impressions is that it carries better than the 0551 that has been my EDC for lo, these many moons. I like the 0551 a LOT and I'm not yet sure which will end up being my EDC going forward, but pocketablity seems to be one of the big virtues of the 0560. The light weight helps, the clip helps, the contouring helps, it feels flatter/thinner than the 0551 even if it isn't. I thought the deep carry might slow retrieval, but it doesn't really seem to. I'm a big guy, that might help, but the length doesn't seem an issue at all.

I have both the 550 series and the 560 series but favor the 560 size wise and feel a little bit more. I love both though.

Not to big for me, but I wear a suit and when not in a suit I try to wear cargo shorts or carpenter jeans. So, I always have a good pocket to put any knife in. Besides, I also have big hands and happen to live in a state where I can carry whatever size folding knife I want and I like to do so.

I love the 0561/1. I think its size lends itself well to the majority of cutting tasks you would put a folder to use on. But In my state where legal carry is 3" or under I would really really appreciate a 75% size 0560 variant. Even if it wasnt the exact same knife as a 0560 but the basic things that draw us to it such as the KVT bearing system, flipper and Ti framelock and a Useable blade shape were offered.

I find the size of my 561 to be perfect. When I scrounge up another spare $260, I'm getting the 560, and when Mr. Hinderer decides to make some aftermarket scales, I'll be getting a few of those too.
Still, I think it largely depends on your individual size. I'm 6'2" 290 (avg. sized hands, though), and it works just fine for me. My buddy is 6'8" 330, and he can only get a three-fingered grip on it. So this is a case of YMMV through and through.

In the past few years some of the larger folders that I've EDC'ed were a Kingdom Armory Samaritan, Hinderer XM-24, Strider AR & SMF, Lion Steel SR1, ZT300, Benchmade 630 Skirmish & 610 Rukus so I have no issue with the length of the 560/561. I do wish it was thicker but I'm really happy with the overall size. An XM clip will help a lot if you find it riding too deep in your pocket and I think it looks better too. Years ago I had a Camillus CUDA Maxx for a short time which had an OAL of 11.5"...now that was a knife that was too big for me to EDC but would be perfect for hoxhunbe's 6'8" 330lbs buddy. 
Well since I started this thread I sold my 0560 and picked up another 0550 to replace it. I'm thrilled with the 0550, for me it's the right choice! Fits my hand like it was made for it, I like the thicker handle. It just feels right for me and I don't need the extra 1/4" of blade length it lacks vs the 0560.
It's kind of how the micarta sebenza feels better in hand than the standard, the extra girth just makes it handle better for me. Too bad the 0550 lacks the flipper, I do kind of miss that feature...

totally with you on this. the 0550 fits my hand like a glove and is ideally sized for EDC in my opinion. if it had a flipper and KVT like the 056X, it would be absolutely perfect.
