I haven't purchased a Spyderco in a little bit now and its killing me. I needed a new holster, and had to pick up some electronics goodies lately, so my "toy budget" hasn't been up to picking up the remaining things on my wish list (which never seems to stop growing).
My last two purchases were a Blem'd JYD-II Comp from Kershaw guy (very happy with that), and a CRKT McGinnis Tuition (which I'm actually pleasantly surprised by), and a Benchmade Griptilian - which I'm just not happy with (not knocking Benchmade or anything).
I've come to realize that I can pick up any one of my Spydercos out of the drawer and carry them without skipping a beat - they feel perfectly natural and since all of mine (except the Delica) have a good-sized choil, they just fit into my hand like they were never gone.
But other than flipper knives (which all my Kershaws are), I don't seem to be able to adjust to the thumb-studs and I've found that I just don't appreciate the other knife-makers like I should.
I've bought and sold a few knives recently that weren't Spydercos and yet I still have several things on my Spyderco list that I now realize I should have just bought in the first place.
Anyone else been waiting for a bit to get that special Spydie... or made the mistake of buying something else that ended in disappointment?
I think I need to pick up a Sage II very soon, and a Chaparal (and the Native 5 needs to hurry up and get in-stock so I can get one too).
