Anyone else going through withdrawals?

I'm losing interest in knives in general. I still can't pass up some of the Sprint runs in high end steel but I have so many knives I just don't need more. On top of all my user knives I have a box with probably over 50 brand new knives still sitting in their box. I can't use them all and can't even really appreciative them sitting in a box.

I got an email for the new super blue caly and didn't even feel like getting it. Of coarse the following day I talked myself into getting one, but I usually get 2 or 3 of the Sprint run knives so it is still a cut back for me. I really like knives that get really sharp and cut good and I think this caly will fill that role well so went ahead and jumped on it. Plus the patina it will develop will make it a little more personal and 'mine'.

Maybe I should start trying to trade for knives I want but with sprints I will end up having to trade a more expensive knife than if I just buy what I want. Plus its hard to get rid of my knives even if they aren't being used.

I was on a Spyderco bing last year but it's died down a bit. Over time, I've decided that I enjoy using my knives and I only carry a few in my EDC rotation. That's left a number sitting in their boxes. Now that I know what type of knives fit my EDC needs, there are fewer Spyderco models that I MUST have.

The Caly 3.5 in SB and Chaparral both are models that I've been drooling over for some time so they will keep me satiated. I'm now starting to look for better sharpening systems and gifting knives to friends/family. So the addiction continues but just in a different way. :D
