Anyone else got a Condor Boomslang on order?

Or any other new item Condor is offering for 2011? I ordered the Boomslang and can't wait to get my hands on it. It will be interesting to see how that size knife (large camp / small machete) performs in the woods of Vermont.

It's definitely thicker than latin American machetes, but doesn't have the meat of the goloks and parangs, being 3/16" thick. With only an 11" long blade it wouldn't be a great slasher either.

I'm thinking it will do about as much as the golok does, overall. Anyone else getting one?

I also want the 12" Thai Enep. Might get that next.

I have a shipment arriving today, and three Boomslangs are in it. I'll try to snap a few photos if I can. Should be a real winner, and I can't wait to see their micarta scales in person. Based on the images I've seen it looks to have a really interesting ocean-blue/green color. :)

Today? Sweet!

Was just thinking how I haven't bought a knife in awhile...

Must be days by now! :) :)

Been wanting to check out the boar dagger since I saw it.

I'm thinking I'll be ending up with a Boar Dagger just to use as a bad-a** letter opener. :D

I don't think I will be the only one that thinks the boomslang and the micarta handled bushlore are going to make a heck of a set. Condor is very high up on my buy list now...

Some quick snapshots are uploading right now. It's a winner for sure! The handle is very nicely shaped and the blade has a good presence.

Ok, here they are! Pardon the poor quality--it was pouring today, so I couldn't get outside!

That looks awesome!!

Thanks a lot for posting those pics, man. You must be the first human in the US to have held one of these. (Other than the blade shows.) :D

It looks like there will be a nice little sweet spot under the clip, and just before it.

When you think camp knife, it doesn't get campier than this. Looks like a perfect camp/utility/bush blade.

I ordered a speed bowie, the blade and handle seem very interesting to me. can't wait to get it!!!
but I have to.

Yeah, the speed bowie is a neat piece of work. I'd love to see a golok blade in that handle!

I also want to add: based on the dimensions and style of this knife, it is not much of a mystery as to what well-known and well-loved blade it is supposed to compete against. *wink*

My Boomslang came in this afternoon! Wow. It's big. Real big. I'm gonna need suspenders if I plan on wearing that sucker on my belt. It's a beast. It has the same general feeling of "choppiness" in hand that a Battle Mistress does. Except the Boomslang is more tip heavy. It is just screaming to chop something. The handle is very nice, I can't wait to get that thing out into the woods!

Glad it made it to you safely! For a carrying option I might suggest a cross-belt system I devised for myself. All it takes is two lengths of 2" webbing and some UTX-Flex hardware. Cost me less than $14 to put together, shipping for all the bits and pieces included.

(Pardon the expression--the sun was in my eyes!)

Yes, yes i do have a Condor Boomslang on order. Looking forward to getting it. I still gotta find a machine shop that can cut tiny jimping ridges in a LOT of my knives. It just makes it so much nicer & also, IMO, safer, when doing smaller chores with a large knife. I always get strange looks when i show my collection of users to people. Most asked question is "why do you have so many big knives". I always reply: well, there are many tasks that a big knife can do that a little one can't, but if your carefull, almost any small job can also be done with a large knife & my philosophy is "it's better to have it & not need it, than to, need it & not have it."
