Anyone else have an issue with Kershaw's repair/sharpening?

I sent my Blur in for torsion bar greasing, and sharpening.(I'm new don't have sharpeners, or tools to take apart yet) When the knife returned I got this. The DLC got worn off on the serrated part of the blade, and now the blade is off center and is rubbing on the handle when I open and close it. I guess it's not that big of a deal, but at the same time it kinda is.
Sorry the pictures are bad, I used my phone, and the serrations picture didn't show the problem when flash was on so that's why that was blurry.

They have never done me wrong. Got all three of my most recent knives were prefect, although none serrated... That simply isn't right

You can pick up a cheap set of Torx bits ( what is needed to adjust the pivot screw and others ) pretty cheaply from Home Depot ect. As for the sharpening, not really sure what to say there. If you are unhappy with it but don't have your own sharpening gear, I would suggest sending it to RichardJ for a reprofile. He is a class act, and does it on the cheap.

The sharpening job they did was phenomenal, mirror polish and everything, but it's the part that they scratched the DLC that's the problem.

Not sure what is up with that. They may run their knives over a buffer after they sharpen the edge with a belt, to polish the bur off. That could be why some of the DLC was removed. Not to sound like a jerk, but if you plan to use the knife, the DLC will wear off or show wear anyway. But I do see where you are coming from.

Steel 130 pretty much nailed it. It is unfortunate but after a little use it would look like that anyway. I suggest just using it, it wasn't meant to be a safe queen, that always makes me feel better about marks on my knives

I know, but I get the dirty feeling knowing that it's fake wear, but most importantly some strangers fake wear. (I'm weird about this stuff I know) But that doesn't explain this off centering thing.

Likely they didn't to nice it when reassembling it. It's an easy fix if you have the tools. Loosen the body screws a bit, as well as the pivot. Put a folded piece of paper in the handle to push the blade over to the lock side (opposite the side it is leaning). Then tighten the body screws up from butt to pivot, making sure to get the right tension at the pivot. Remove the paper, and it should be better. You should be able to adjust the pivot a bit more if you need to without affecting the centering.

It is very easy to do, just need a torxs set. Maybe $5 at Lowes or home depot. I mean you can't call yourself a knife man if you don't own one or can't adjust your knife ;)

I found a bit set. It contains T5, T6, T7, T8, T9, T10, T15, T20. Would that provide for all my torx needs.

You don't need anything past T10 so Yeah that will work... I just buy mine at lowes for 5 bux.. Works good and If I fudge them I just replace them for free..

Yes. T6 and T8 are the most common. As long as you use the right size and don't over torque, they will last for years.

Alright, now you're a man :D

Funny statement. It's funny because my dad is a Air conditioner installer/car mechanic/plumber/former SSBN mechanic for the NAVY/DIY master, and has all the tools imaginable.........Except a torx set. Actually he still doesn't have a torx set....I have a torx set. :p
