Anyone Else Have Coating Issues With Tankbuster?

My orange and black buster came today and went back today. My coating had a bunch of bumps that looked like paint bubbles or imperfections that were covered over. I have several black coated bussekins and they are all smooth as silk. I don't plan on using this one and if I decided to sell it later, anyone buying it would have had a problem with that finish. While I'm somewhat peeved that it made it out their door after being inspected like this, I am glad to know they have a great customer service ethic and that it will be taken care of. Amy told me to send it right back. I have several Busse's and wouldn't hesitate to order more. In fact, I know I will. Anyone else have any coating problems? The urban camo one posted looks smooth and perfect.

i dont know about smooth , but its evenly coated.... minus the areas where the grey was its a little smoother in those areas ... but it looks just like my AD coating honestly.... well hope your the only one sir.... smooth as silk... i have a few scrap yards and sr's with smooth coats but most are a crinkle coating....

No problems w/ my two in Tanker Gray. Excellent fit and finish as (nearly) always. I do have one or two that have a few places where the coating's solvent(s) seem to have raised a tiny bump, but those are the exception and quite uncommon.

Need pics. You're not talking about the bumps on the crinkle coat vs. A smooth coat, are you?

I hope not since his blade is on the way back to Ohio :eek: but I am guessing since he has other black coated blades that is not the case unless they were not black crinkle....

when was the last time Jerry did a black coated blade that was smooth as silk.....

Uh...my new HG55. I mean smooth as in consistent throughout the blade. I should have taken pics before I shipped, but the blade coating is not consistent and the rest of my black coatings are. You can tell when looking at it that there is just something wrong with the finish. Anyway, I'm glad no one else seems to have any problems.

Just relax now. It will be taken care of. :thumbup:
Sorry about the delay.

Ed,

Like I said in my e-mail that I sent you before you decided to make this a issue....send it in and we will take a look at it...however we have inspectors that look at each and every blade and I know that all of the Tank Buster's looked great:) No rush job about it Ed... I assure you of that we have been working on these for a very long time:)

If you have any more issues please feel free to e-mail me at amy@bussecombat.com

Yes, relax.:cool:

If Amy is already taking care of you it's common courtesy to keep it between you and Busse and not throw it out there for everyone to see.

I am sure that is not what your intentions were but some would perceive it that way.

Just sayin'.

Absolutely not my intention. I just wanted to see if maybe I was looking at the knife wrong and this was a normal coating issue with the knife or not. Seems like I made a big mistake questioning anything here. Won't happen again, now that I know how it works. Feel free to lock this down or delete it. I'm outta here.

Custom--- Hold on! We HOGS just want you to know that all will be well with you and your Busse. :thumbup: Best knives, best warranty! :thumbup:

No need for that....only if Lycosa would make sense:confused::confused: and I swear he never does:p:p

PM sent:):)

All is good all....:thumbup::thumbup:

The day lycosa starts making sense is the day I stop asking for bama clay, and buy a bunch of sus scrofas :barf:

not gonna happen :D

It made sense to me.

He said he is not going to send his free knives to you . . . now he is going to send them to me instead.

Right?:thumbup::cool:
