Anyone else have knives on the way?

At the Janesville, WI show in late March, I am supposed to get my camp knife from Kevin Cashen. I managed to find a huge stag crown with gorgeous natural amber color. The crown is fat, straight and is about 6.5" long. It also turns straight down at the back. Kevin is using it to make his version of this camp knife shown on Charlie Ochs site. My Cashen version will have a 12" blade of O1/L6 ladder pattern damascus. The knife will be similar to this one, but instead of all those spacers, mine will have mostly crown stag and a couple of nickel spacers and a couple of thin maroon micarta spacers. Same Scagel style guard. I am stoked!

Yup. ;) A TOPS CQT 711 should be here in a few days & an Ed Caffrey spike tomahawk is now only a couple of weeks out. :D

In addition to these, I have a skeleton handled Don Shipley camp knife that Bodycote is coating with chromium and black boron carbide for both corrosion and wear resistance. When I get it back, I'm having a pair of scales attached & will be making my own custom leather sheath for it. (I'll post pics in the Gallery when all the work is done.)

After these, I have to start saving for the ECCKS. March isn't that far away.

I've got a Ti Crawford Wortac on order, due next month.

Other than that, I'm on a holding pattern tilll something else grabs my goat!

I am waiting for an Al Mar Falcon Ultra Light, mirror finish, plain edge. I have a "first production" Hawk from the same series and it is great. The Falcon is about 1/4" longer and has a pocket clip.

Orders I have placed for expected '02 (or in some cases '01) delivery, in no particular order:

Tim Herman Sliver (engraved)
Bob Doggett Hunter (a very special one ;) )
Tim Britton Terminator III
Neil Blackwood fighter (something new coming)
Matt Lamey fighter
J. Loose damascus dagger
GenO Denning double-edged fighter
Johan Gustaffson heat colored damascus fixed blade
Steve Corkum 17" combat Wakizashi
Dervish Knives Triton (2, unofficially)

I've also just received:
Dickie Robinson, J.S. gent's bowie (received in trade)
Murray Carter, Muteki camp knife
Busse Mr. Mojo

Sometimes it scares me to think about how many of my future paychecks have already been spent in their entirety.

I ordered my first custom knife after lurking around Blade Forums for some time now. Last week I plucked one of Tom's ready to eat pieces from his web site -- it is the large TNT recurve, drop point --I'd attach a picture if I could.

All I have to say is what a magnificent folder! The quality blows me away. Fit and finish are top drawer. Amazingly light in the hand, but by no means insignificant feeling. This is one of Mr. Mayo's large blades, but it is actually 3 3/4" (more like his XL) and this I dig! I'm sure many of you are already familiar with Tom's TNT (Titanium and Talonite)series and there have been some real reveiws already posted, so I won't bore you with redundant information.

Tom Mayo and I corresponded several times prior to my order and he responded to my questions pleasantly and immediately. He received my payment Monday, shipped via Express Mail from Waialua yesterday and it was waiting for me today -- single day Express Mail from Hawaii, hmmm what a concept!

Tom Mayo, the man, and Tom Mayo the Artist are both of the same caliber -- a first class gentleman and a first class knife!

Bob West

(hope he doesn't see this -- I don't want his ego to get out of hand and affect his work)

On the way to me right now are:

Cold Steel Kobun
Cold Steel Super Edge
Custom Fixed 4" Drop point from Tim Johnson

Yep! :)

My beloved (and knifemaker!! isn't it great? :D), satin (here on BF actually), is in the process of making a custom blade for me that i designed, called Night Raider, tanto stainless steel blade, partially serrated, black cord-wrapping, drop sheath (with leg strap  ). Not sure exactly when it will get here.. but guessing February.
