Anyone Else Having Gerber Hatchets/Axe Blade Issues?

Anyone else have problems with their gerber blades chipping? I was out quartering an elk this past winter and it appears that elk bone is too hard for the gerber back paxe. It's chipped in a few different places. Is this typical?

I have the smaller sport axe; it seems to be succeptable to edge damage. It could be the thin grind or steel quality, I'm not too sure. Mine dulls very easily with light around the yard use- and I'm careful to avoid rocks etc when chopping anything near or in the ground like tree roots vines and such. I think they are decent quality, Gerber just needs to use better steel in the axe head... just my humble opinion. Carbonsteel all the way.

I though I'd mention this just as a point of interest. In the movie "A Perfect Getaway," Tim Olyphant's character uses what appears to be a Gerber/Fiskars hatchet. If you look closely at the axe poll, you can see one of the corners is broken off. When I saw this in the movie, I remember thinking to myself, "Yup, that's what a Gerber axe that has actually been used would probably look like."

I think the original poster is just some scammer trying to get people to go check out his website. What a douche. Trying to get some business.

From the replies it seems to be a problem elsewhere too...

Not a spammer Jeepin. Sorry guy. And if I didn't have to pay money to change my username...I would.
