Anyone else having trouble with Mozilla on the Forums?

Just recently I've been having trouble with Firefox reading Bladeforums accurately and it won't open Knifeforums at all. It's like the code is all wonky. No problems with Internet Explorer or other pages so it must be a problem between Mozilla and the bulletin board format. Anyone else noticed this? BTW I've checked and my Firefox is up to date.

I'm using firefox 1.02 right now and no problems with either forum so it must be something on your end.

If you've done any speed tweeks like pipelining, go back to the default setup. I had all kinds of weird things happening when I had pipelining in effect.

I also had a lot of problems with extensions so I started a new profile and things have been fine ever since.

with Mozilla, sometimes I do not see pics or attachments.

I use Netscape Mozilla IE and Opera for different applications.

I empty the cache on FM every night and it runs much better. Found that if I went a few days without doing that, it got balky, and slow, like IE on this forum.
It's in Tools>Options.

I would say it's been wonky for me also. It seems to have something to do with avatars. They seem to appear in strange places. I've had parfives dancing girl avatar appear under my name and this strange bird avatar showing up all over the place. I switched back to Safari for viewing BFC, but I will try emptying the cache when I get home.

Mozilla does not show all pictures properly while IE does, propably the BB SW is (again) IE optimized non standard code. Ofcourse you can see the picts by looking at the source code but that is a bit dumb.

PhilL, the avatar thing happened to me too, but went away after I stopped using the speed tweek. Well, actually now that I think about it, that was also around the time I started using CrapCleaner to wipe out the cache regularly.

Also if anybody has trouble seeing anything using firefox, try using the extension IEView which - much like it sounds - lets you view the page in IE at the click of your mouse.

Other extensions I can't live without: Bugmenot, Image Zoom, Open Book, Enhanced History Manager, and Cookie Culler.

I had nothing but problems with it so i just got rid of it and went back to old faithful internet explorer

im using foxfire, and havent had a problem. cant use verizons webspace with it however... have to use ie for that.

I use FM on Vbulletin 3 forums, like this one that are so slow on IE, and have had no problems at all. But, I don't use all those extensions etc.

My one real complaint is, it won't arrange my favorites like IE will, but intermixes all the folders in with the files all in alphabetical order.

IE seperates the folders on top, and the files below, both alphabetically.:(

Wow! I thought I was the only person on the planet who didn't rave about Firefox? I also went back to IE, despite its foibles.

foxfire has its good points, and its bad points... i just went to it because i thought i had a virus attacking ie, and found that the multiple window workspace was really nice. thats about the only reason i use it - not knowing much about explorer programing.

you can arrange foxfires favorites however you want them, as long as you do it in foxfire. kinda sucks to have to re rearange 200 links, but it can be done...

Things get weird for me with Mozilla from time to time, the avatars tank and the little quote and reply icons get screwed up, clearing cookies straightens it out (after logging back in)

Mike Hall's advice about clearing the cache regularly really helps.

I had a number of minor problems with Firefox and one major one: it kept crashing. Bye bye.

Just came across this on their latest version: Mozilla Foundation prepares third Firefox security update
From Wikinews, the free news source (BETA)
April 9, 2005

The Mozilla Foundation is in the final stages of preparing the third security update to the popular free Internet broswer Firefox.

This update will fix a security issue highlighted by Internet security firm Secunia which allows remote users to read the memory of a computer running earlier versions of Firefox. Information such as the websites the user has recently visited or their e-mail addresses can easily be recovered.

Users can visit the Secunia website and use a test page to see if they are vulnerable and to study the kind of information that the flaw discloses. Secunia currently recommends disabling Javascript in the browser as a short-term measure against the bug.

The release will also fix some bugs discovered in version 1.0.2 and a selection of other security issues.

Been using firefox since it was alpha or maybe early early beta and I've only ever had one problem and it was with miniclip.com a flash/shockwave game site, but I fixed that by reinstalling flash/shockwave.

Try rearranging 2 MB's worth. And as far as I know, you can't arrange them the way IE does automatically.

I don't think I have enought time left to live, to rearrange all my favorites in FM manually.;)

I've experienced situations where one or more of the "smilies" was replaced with someone's avatar or another symbol. Come to think of it Collucci's current avatar took the place of the smilie that is always licking ( :p ) out at something which, given her pose, seemed rather appropriate and possibly Freudian.
