I was just looking through my mp3's and noticed they vary wildly, anyone else like this? Most people I know listen to one type of music and thats it.

In my collection

Elvis
The Eagles
Rammstein
Dire Straits
Coal Chamber
Black Sabbath
Guns n roses
Green Day
U2
Whitesnake
Van Halen
ELO
The Corrs
Mike Oldfield
Led Zeppelin
Malmateen
Puccini
Wagner
Delibes
Maxim Vengerov
Various Classical compilations
Various dance music
etc etc...

I will listen to everything except country and rap but my heart belongs to metal.

I have a stack of metal CDs I dont listen to as much anymore too

old mans child
sacramentum
Cannibal corpse
the list goes on...

What kind of metal do you like? Is that the Iron Maiden monster in your avatar? I have a couple of their CDs too...

I've got everything and I do mean everything except for teen idol type groups or singers. Good music is good music, doesn't matter if it's Johnny Cash or Ludacris.

I like pretty much ALL types of music - except *gangsta rap* which of course isn't music in the first place so that is a moot point.

Guess it comes from years of being involved in one way or another with the music industry - and getting all those freebie CD's, cassettes, albums, laquer cylinders, etc.

My daughter's (22) musical tastes are similar to mine - very eclectic - but my son's (26) are much narrower. My wife listens to whatever we're playing at the time. :)

I hate clichés like the plague, but - "it's all good".

I can listen to anything except rap and really oldtime, winey, cryin in yer beer country. I gotta have some nice guitar work in there somewhere. :)

I like almost all music, except for:
-negative rap (racist and hate/violence filled rap)
-New country (the stuff that is just shlock-pop or rock with a hick twang)
-Most pop/top 40
-New Age BS
-Techno/Electronica

I like pretty much most other music with a few exceptions.

I have Rammstein next to Carmina Burama in my CD player.

From classic blues to rock-a billy to metal as long as it is up tempo or clever
I'll listen.

But the Indigo Girls and Poppy-techno I shall pass.

I don't like singer/songwriter stuff, or new country or 99% of rap music. All you need for rap is old NWA, RUN DMC or Public Enemy. Most other music is a go. But like Collucci, metal is my true love.

I remember seeing both Ministry and the Anti-Nowhere League at a nightclub on Long Island called Spit waaaaaay back around '83. I don't know if it was at the same time though... but Ministry was a very different band in those days than they are now. Thanks for bringing back some memories, as fuzzy as they may be.

Yea I had an old Ministry tape , it sounded like New Order or something but , you got to see The League !! They have long been one of my favorite Punk bands. :)

Again with the pleasant memories! "The Record" was one of my favorite albums in those days...

New York's alright,
New York's alright,
New York's alright,
if you like saxophones!

New York's alright if you wanna be pushed in front of the subway!
New York's alright if you like tuberculosis!
New York's alright if you like art and jazz!
New York's alright if you're a homosexual!

New york's alright,
New York's alright,
New York's alright,
if you like saxophones!

New York's alright if you like drunks in your doorway!
New York's alright if you wanna freeze to death!
New York's alright if you wanna get mugged or murdered!
New York's alright if you like saxophones!

New York's alright,
New York's alright,
New York's alright,
if you like saxophones!

I don't mind new country that much but i just won't label it new country. It's just pop to me.

I listen to almost anything. A sample of my CD collection:

-Pantera
-Dolly Parton
-Faith Hill
-Jewel
-System of a Down
-Rage against the Machine
-Nigel Kennedy
-Enya
-Clannad
-Emperor
-In Flames
-U2
-The Drifters
-Marilyn Manson

Quite varied i think but i would like to buy more 80's stuff. To me the 80's is what reminds me of my childhood. I love Eurythmics, Duran Duran etc. I don't think i have any rap albums at all. I think i have 1 tupac single. Hit 'em up. That's it.

I thought they were the round, black cylinders that were played on a Grafonola with a needle, predating 78rpm records. I could be wrong, so I will check. :o

Music? I have about 800 CD's, not to mention the 500 cassettes, reel-to-reel tapes, and LP records...Everything from Bobby Vinton to Frank Zappa, with many stops in-between.:D.
