You think yours is confused? Last night, my wife stuck in some Insync CD, and I sort of enjoyed a little of it. Umm, sort of. But, not really.

Ugh... my last girlfriend liked that band and that style of music. No offense to anyone but two music's I cannot stand are any rap and what they call R&B nowadays... the old R&B is cool like from the 60's but , the stuff out now makes me want to jab kebab into my ears.
It's funny how some music has become socially acceptable when a decade or so ago it was the bane of existence.
Punk for instance , when I was a kid in the 80's Punk was evil , drug induced music for disaffected White youth , surely listening to Punk would get you a free ticket to hell when you died.
These days Punk is in commercials, parents let thier kids get nose rings and mohawks , camo pants are sold at Target and "Punk" bands are sponsored by corporate entities. Same goes for some Metal , not too long ago I heard a snippet of a Killswitch Engage song on a Pop Tarts commercial (I think it was Pop Tarts) , kinda funny in a way.... :D
What gets me is , what is called Punk by the mainstream (MTV etc) wouldnt catch the attention of anyone really into Punk music , I mean come on , Green Day ??? They are about as Punk as Oprah is hot. Sum41 and Blink 182 , not Punk at all , in the true sense of the word but , if those bands make your toes tap then right on for you.
About 13-14 years ago I saw HR (old singer for Bad Brains) http://www.breakmyface.com/bands/badbrains.html at a small club here in Fresno on a weeknight. There wasnt 20 people showed up to see a legend like HR. Granted all he was doing at that time was dub style Reggae but still , the Bad Brains are a seminal Punk band if there ever was one. Not only the only all Black Punk band to my knowledge but a damn good one at that.

You guys that are into Metal and are open minded should check out the album "Us and Them" by Godflesh. One of the heaviest, most underrated recordings of all time IMHO.

Ahh, the good old Earache and Roadrunner days........

Anything but rap and hip-hop.Check out the band,Budgie, specifically,In For The Kill.  Everybody likes what they like! :)

My collection is just as eclectic as bladefixation2's.

One day, I did a complete cleaning of the kitchen. I listened to music while I cleaned. The sounds ranged from John Lee Hooker to Quiet Riot to Enigma to Liszt.

A pretty wide mix, no real metal or rap, just isn't in me I suppose :)

I would say my taste in music is fairly eclectic, with a noted exception of Rap, Heavy Metal and Jazz. I probably have about 400 CD's half of which are Classical. I have around 2100 songs in iTunes and I'm more likely to play music on my iMac than load CD' into my 60 disc CD player, it's just easier.

I was listening to my iPod Shuffle while riding the subway to and from work and I noticed that a lot of the 150 songs that the Shuffle hold were Country, Willie Nelson, Dixie Chicks, Statler Brothers, Soggy Bottom Boys, Johnny Cash. Interspersed with this was Pavorotti's "Nessum Dorma" and the Beau Hunks doing the Little Rascal themes and Israel Kamakawiwaole's "Over the Rainbow". Like I said fairly eclectic.

Yeah, I too have an eclectic taste in music!! I like Classical, Country, Classic Rock, to things like Black Eyed Peas. You should see my iTunes play list!!

Ill listen to anything except rap and hiphop. I love bands such as Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Iron Maiden, and even some classical stuff such as Mussorgsky (Russian composer in the 1800s). Also I like some old country such as Willie Nelson. Ill listen to some modern country, but I dont really like it.

Godflesh is awesome. I saw them on the Streetcleaner tour. They opened for Nocturnus and Napalm Death. I saw them again as headliners on the Selfless tour. Got to be one of the heaviest bands ever.

It has been my experience that anyone who uses the phrase "I like all kinds of music" or "I listen to all kinds of music" or "I like everything but country" has a pretty narrow view of the music world.

You like all kinds of music? How about Chinese opera music? Liar. Nobody likes Chinese opera music. How about Tejano? If you like Tejano, you're not the kind of guy who likes "all kinds of music".

Most of the lists on this page seem to be just collections of American pop rock, pop metal, pop alternative and pop classical.

I don't mean to step on anyone's toes . . just pointing out the fact that when some of you use the term "everything", you appear to be saying that you have a large collection of albums and you like almost all of them . . you're not really talking about a catholic selection of musical genres.

I saw them twice too. CRUSHING would be the best way I could describe it. I love their studio albums and their dub mixes. Just crazy, heavy trance inducing stuff.

It's nice to see someone else out there who's into them.

I listen to everything from metal (in all it's forms), industrial, old blues (electric or acoustic), some reggae, some classical, old funk (think James Brown), punk/hardcore, alt rock, classic rock.... I'm sure I forgot something.

Oh, and Jimi Hendrix. He's in a class all his own. Live recordings of Hendrix are awe inspiring!
