Im sure im not the only one that likes to get to the mailbox before the wife does when i know there's a new knife waiting for me there! I dont think of it as being sneaky about purchases, just avoiding the "ANOTHER knife" conversation when possible. Anyone else have tips or tricks to share?

I have done that a time or two. My wife usually gets the mail, but when a USPS package arrives I generally retrieve it fairly quickly if I know it's coming (and I'm home). If my wife gets a package, I don't even ask what it is. Most of the packages I receive are work related.

I have done the get it at work thing as well. But if I am particularly concerned about it, I have it shipped to my PO box.

Good idea having delivered to work. The Mrs usually doesnt give me too hard of a time about it, but my addiction sometimes flares up worse than usual. To the point where I feel I've overspent! Then I know its bad!

You have to purchase some really cheap stuff and have her witness you opening it,like cheap socks or something as a diversion, then when the real goods come in she won't even be interested or concerned, this must be done delicately or it can backfire, and she'll take an interest in the "junk " you buy.

NO! I don't want to have to deal with the mail. If I get a package, or if she does, it just gets put on the counter. Most of the time I don't even look at my own mail unless she insists on it.

I will get the mail first (if i want).
Some tips: Buying start of month to avoid it quickly showing on CC statement.
Delete payment emails from paypal, shipping notifications. Get early outed when guy unexpectedly reprints a new label and then still uses the original one
Laugh about it and tell her you're soon selling something, make sure to leave those paypal emails :D

Nope, my wife doesn't worry about what I buy, and I don't worry about what she buys. We each have our own money and we spend it how we wish. The bills are paid, retirement accounts funded, savings charged every month, I don't ask permission to spend my money how I see fit. She tends to get in first, so she usually gets the mail. When packages come in, they're always waiting for me on the arm of "my" side of the couch. Life is good.

We use the staircase. I don’t particularity like opening stuff—even addressed to me— so I usually defer.

You guys share email and PayPal accounts? That’s new on me.

That I would not do for a number of reasons. But after decades, I have not looked at anyone’s phone, email, photos, messages, eBay, PayPal or sock drawer—nor do they interest me.

The obvious answer: send it to the girlfriend’s.

Yeah, life’s too short to squabble about the mail.
Lol thats great, send to the girlfriends! There's no squabbling or anything like that with the wife and I, we have a great relationship. I am known to jokingly give her a hard time about how much she spends on hers and the teenage daughters hair appointments. Maybe I'm setting myself up for the bit of ribbing she does give me!

Can have multiple emails for 1 paypal. We both had ebay and pp it just made sense to use one since we got married. Shes also the one that signed up for the daily USPS scans.
Sock draws freely accessible by both parties and contain various interesting items that may require usage by either :)

Didn’t know that! We each conduct our separate business in the digital realm, and it would be awful to disentangle at tax time.

Also, I’m a “less is more” person when it comes to some things. Guess every couple finds its set point: that happy medium between sharing and individual space both in digital media and everyday getting along.!:)
