Anyone else play the "beat your signifigant other to the mailbox game"?

I kinda stopped doing that. I usually spend less than a few hundred a year on the knife hobby as I have more fun trading than buying stuff. When I explained things in those dollar terms, she stopped caring.
 
I always try to get there first, otherwise she might keep it.

Recently, she lost my CRKT Minimalist so, as punishment, I was required to buy her a Spyderco ARK. I'm still not sure how that one worked out that way.
 
Is that a new aquisition strategy on your wife's part, lose a proof of concept knife get an upgraded version? If only we could do the same.
