Anyone Else Snag a "First Production" Run BM531?

I don't see the writing on the blade as a big deal. Seems like a bigger deal to get the knife sooner rather than later.

That's a fair response. I usually wait for the regular production models to ship. There's a good reason for this; any production issues (spelled problems) not caught in the FP numbered versions are usually worked out. And there's good news - if there's a bottom line, it's their (BKC) ability to address and repair any issues that come up.

I got a 531 #19 of 750 today from Knifeworks. PERFECT in fit and finish centered properly and no play in any direction and razor sharp. New blade shape is a big improvement. This will make a great EDC!

Got mine yesterday. Marked 17 of 750. Lock up is good, blade is good and sharp, however, centering is off. There's not much tolerance between the blade and handle on these knives, so even being off by 1mm is going to be drastically obvious. The grip feels good, but I'm not sure yet how I like the feel of the knife in my hand. I was fearful of the non-curved grip of the coffin design from the onset, but was hoping I'd be OK with it. I'll give it more time, however I'm focused on getting my laptop back online before I do much else. I have pics that I was going to post to show general shots of the knife, but my laptop decided to take a dump overnight and won't boot up.

I am posting from Tapatalk right now. I'll see if I can post these pics from my phone. Not sure how they'll turn out.

nice pictures!
i think that knife is going to be my next benchmade.
this thing must cut like a laser!

I'll find out later today, once I cut up my apple. :D

thats the first thing i cut with my new knives (except for some cardboard maybe)!
i like knives to cut right through an apple, and not to cut approximately to the middle of the apple and then act like a wedge; splitting it apart.

This will definitely cut deeper than half way, but I don't think the blade is long enough for a single pass thru the entire diameter of an apple, unless you have really small apples.

Wanted to bump this, as I'm thinking about grabbing the 531 again to give it a 2nd chance

Anyone still using this knife?

I have a 531BK I picked up a few weeks back. I haven't yet added it to my EDC rotation, simply because I like to give a knife a few weeks time before switching, so I can get a good feel for how I like it and what needs it best fills. I have a few knoves ahead of it in the line, but I'm looking forward to it, though. I love how thin and light it is, yet how sturdy the G10 feels (and it looks great, too)!
