Anyone else thought about it ?

I don’t know, the standard 55 is already fairly light and I hardly notice it in my pocket when I do carry it in my watch pocket. And I like the brass and wood that makes it tough for a little knife. Still I carry a bit bigger knife for the heavier tasks when I do carry a 55.

I have bought some nano bantams for my grandkids and they love them. For their small hands it is a good fit and it’s a decent little knife for a beginner. The price is hard to beat and if they loose them it isn’t a big loss as it would be as the 55.

An ebony 112 weighs about 6.1 oz.
A 112 LT g-10 pro comes in at 2.8oz.
so the 112 LT weighs about 45% of the standard 112...….
I can't imagine they would be able to make a 55 LT weigh even half that of a standard 55.

Heck a clean cotton handkerchief weighs an oz!

Little plastic handle knives are like sporks.
You use them when nothing else is available.
And I would probably use the disposable knife they keep near the sporks so I wouldn't look ridiculous using my little plastic knife along with the spork.
Tell that to all of the things my 425 handled those couple of years I carried it everyday as a teenager.
I have since discovered the Gerber ultralight LST which cuts better and I do kind of prefer, but Buck will always be the king of lockbacks.

Have you looked at the Buck 425? It's not quite a 55 LT, it's more like a 505LT.

O.B.
Carried one for years as a teenager, my very first Buck knife matter of fact.
I also have a 283, a 524 alumni ( like it better actually ) , and a gent.

Come to think of it I'd probably be even happier with a clip point 505 than I would an LT.
Now that's something I think Buck would definitely sell.

I want a 317 “LT”, with one or both locking blades, or a single blade locking “LT” in that (317) shape.

Get creative, Buck. Cold Steel essentially sells that knife (single bladed locking 317) as the “Skull Ranch” and gets $70 plus for it. Sell an American, Buck branded one for $40, and see what happens..

You talking about the " broken skull " ?

Yep, sorry, I had the wrong name (think they are named after Steve Austin’s “Broken Skull Ranch”).I’ve got one of the old “Lone Star Hunter” knives that Cold Steel used to make. Same shape as the Broken Skull, but different materials. Huge knife, but still carries well with its’ clip.
