anyone else use fountain pens?

Yes, have many and I rotate through them, except for my Pelikans. They are so nice I can't seem to bring myself to ink them. This one's my favorite:

Now that has got my want gland operating!
I use a lamy ball point FP but I much prefer chisel points.I sharpen all pencil within range to a chisel tip.
I used my Windsor Newton calligraphy set recently to write my wifes birthday and St Valentines day cards.
It is of the dip and write style as opposed to cartridge. .
Something different and it pays to have a piece of scrap paper on hand to avoid making a mess.
cheers (go light)

I have a couple old dip pens with probably 15 nibs. And a couple bottles of vintage skrip ink. They write great, even the ink.

Anyways, my Parker doesn't always want to write for me, it will write, but I doesn't keep writing. It will skip from time to time. I don't know if it is the angle that I am holding the pen (my lamy doesn't skip) or what, any ideas on it? (It does have ink in it, not a lot, but there is definately some.

Which model Parker? When did you last flush it thoroughly?

I don't remember the model, it is in the first pic I posted. I think it was just because my ink was low (not out). there was less in it than I thought though. ran out on my today

I have always written with fountain pens, albeit not exclusively. I used to collect but have whittled my collection down to around 6 users. I always have a couple of Parker 51's inked along with a Stipula Etruria and Stipula Saturno.

I just picked up a lamy safari. My Parker was not working well for me so I replaced it. My Parker was dryig ink up very quickly (as in overnight) I had to fight with it to get it to write each time I used it. Worked great once it started, but I was using it in class and needed it to work right when I wanted it to. My lamy worked well so I decided Tobago with another one

These two beauties arrived in the mail today, at the top we have a Sheaffer Balance 500 and the pen on the bottom is a Sheaffer Snorkel. The Balance is in excellent condition but the Snorkel is in need of a new sac. Otherwise it looks amazing for something that was made 60+ years ago.

I picked up a basic Lamy Safari with an EF nib recently and have been using it regularly at work. It writes a bit dry compared to my Watermans with M nibs, but I am still liking it.

my lamy alstar (very similar to the safari IIRC) writes really dry for me, it has the Extra fine nib in it. I was using I believe a fine nib in my other lamy, and it writes a lot more wet. I kind of what to get a chisel tip for one of my lamys though. any ideas on where I can get just a new nib?

I got my Lamy on everyone's favorite auction site, and also a huge pile of ink cartridges cheaply. I recall seeing some nibs too.
