Anyone Else Wear Sling Bags?

Yesterday we went to my inlaws with the pooch and took my packable raincoat and some dogfood to my NorthFace purse.
I should have ofcourse just stuffed them to my pants like real man or take the rain and not whine like communist.
Depending on where you stuffed your raincoat in your pants, your in-laws might be surprised.:)

I've been carrying a purse for years.
its actually an insulated lunch bag, but over time its collected a handful of things that I like to have around.
usually my checkbook, lansky turnbox for touchups, a couple spare knives, extra tobacco, floss toothpicks, and a spare set of eyeglasses.
also lunch
I find it useful and couldn't care less what anybody else thinks about it.
except my wife, she makes me get a new one every so often when it starts to wear down

PS: My brain, and my back, love symmetry too much to ever own/use a sling bag.

Not a sling bag but as soon as the weather warms up I use an Eberlestock bando bag (fanny pack) with a G43, two spare mags, wallet and other IDs. Its great. Well made, doesnt look tactical and is more comfortable than my hill people gear fanny pack, which is also very nice

A few months ago I got the 945 Industries QAPL sling bag. With the price I was a bit hesitant, but decided I’d try it (I did get a generous veterans discount. So that helped convince me)

And I’ll say I love it. I actually got the Vertx Everyday Sling first, but very quickly returned that one. The 945 solved all the problems I saw in the Vertx. Plus it came with a decent kydex holster. The quality and for its use is amazing. *it isn’t so much a EDC bag* I can’t stress that enough. It’s pretty much an off body holster with LITTLE room for a couple things. I carry a S&W Shield Plus. With that and a spare mag, there’s not much room. But I expected that.

Next, my use. I live in Texas. It’s hot, I figured I’d try off body carry. I have a few small edc things that I carried in it. And liked it. It really carries all I really NEED. (I do keep a 5.11 Rush 12 in my car with more specific needs. So the 945 is really all I needed on my person for a level 2 EDC carry.)

Next, my issue (personal frustration/experience) I love it. I really do. It fits my pistol, mag, Swiss Army Tinker small/medium (I’ve seen it called both), a lighter, a small “ouchie” bag (bandaids and a few common medicines), a small calendar (having a kid very soon so that gets a lot of use), and a couple pens. And that really is what I use most. BUT… I find it inconvenient at times. My wife is diabetic, so we are at the doctors office (in a hospital) twice a week. So my option is either 1.leave the bag in the car, or 2. Take the pistol and magazine out. Which either is “fine” and I knew this going in. But I don’t like having to leave everything behind in the car.

Finally, my thoughts on next step. As I’ve grown frustrated at not having my stuff with me as often as I’d like due to the pistol being part of the bag. I’ve thought about going back to appendix carry. But I’ve grown to love the grab and go bag. So looking at either a LuLuLemon bag (my wife loves hers) or the Alpaka Go Sling Nano for my EDC. Keeping them separate solves my issues. But I struggle with the idea of buying a new bag when the 945 is in great shape. But severely limits itself having the firm backing (which is a HUGE plus for its intended use)

Thank you for anyone who read me cry about my woes haha. I don’t want to “review” the bag because it’s great. I’ve just learned it’s not the bag I need/want. I was wondering if anyone has had similar experiences or uses a sling bag for a few extra goodies
