Unfortunately, it's a get-what-you-pay-for situation.
As a WalMart shopper, you may want to keep an eye on their display case for closeouts.
My daughter spied a Sheffield rainbow-hued knife and asked me to buy it for her. When I went to the case, they had a Leatherman on closeout for $15.00.
It also doesn't hurt to check eBay. Sometimes a used one will sell for cheap.

^^^good people will always come out ahead--nice job paul, thats just good karma and the way people should treat others on a great forum like this.

Tommy, send me an email and I will send you a Leatherman:thumbup:

That is very kind of you. Leatherman tools are top notch. One of the finest multi-tools you can own.

If you google the writings of Doug Ritter, you will find that he swears by them.

We all love Paul everywhere on the forums, he is without a doubt one of the best folks on here who epitomizes the true community spirit. If ever there was a poster child for BFC overall, Paul would be in the top 5. :) So many great people here it's very easy to make friends. As far as the "bent wing" because it's a cheaper brand of multitool it uses cheaper softer steel so you could just put it in a vice and bend it back. Unfortunately because of what it is, it'll eventually bend again which brings me to a question and some advice for the new to you Leatherman, whatever you did to bend the first one, I presume you used it for a prybar or a spanner wrench, neither of which is good for a multitool, let alone a cheap one.) don't do it with the one Paul is gifting you as you may very well bend the Leatherman.

Multitools are great to have, they do so much, the problem just like with anything else made to do the job of several things, a tool/device that's not job specific is average at all the jobs and ex cells at none. This brings me to another point, you said you can't afford a $50 Leatherman, I've found Leatherman multitools, not lookalikes but the actual Leathermans for about $5 and they were all fine. Even if they weren't I woulda sent them back for warranty work Tim's people are really great in the CSS department. :)

Enjoy the gift from Paul, Paul, you guys, Jack, Charlie, Barry, I could write a page thankin' all you fine folks of the forums are shining examples of what this forum and this community are all about.

Tommy, I hope you can pay it forward someday and get to enjoy the complete BFC experience. :)

Major major [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] for Paul!
