Anyone ever built a boat?

I was in a chain reaction at 60 mph on the N.J. turnpike. The force of the impact threw the canoe, bong bong bobong, along the tops of five cars and a pickup, until it slooowly slide down over the wind shield of the last car in front. My camera was packed deep, sorry to say. What ever you decide, don't forget life vests for the little ones . Quote

Was that canoe still seaworthy after its landlubber launch ? I suspect that was its maiden voyage and final cruise all at the same time ?

And while remembering the life vests for the little ones make damned sure they have a crotch strap, two is even better, one from each side rather than one down the middle.
One time many years ago a little four year old girl didn't listen to her daddy when he told her to keep still until he was able to help her out.
She tried to step out of the boat onto the boat dock and the boat went sideways as they are wont to do and she went down in thirty feet of water. A child more than anyone will reach over their head trying to catch onto something and are able to slide right out of a life vest without any crotch straps.
A very tragic accident aqnd the daddy probably will never be able to forgive himself.:(

The Old Town model I have is made of an ABS/foam/ABS sandwich (ABS is football helmet stuff). That was thirty years ago, and the only visible damage was to the trim above the prow.....yes, the crack is still there to laugh at me. Old Town had an ad where they dropped the same model off the roof of their four story factory, and it bounced 2 storys!

Gorgeous designs and about 40-50 hrs of labor. I guess it's considered cheating, but they make really fantatic boats and the prices are quite resonable.

Like maybe thissa here Arctic Hawk?

Built Aug 2001. I recommended CLC on the fly, with my thoughts running to their Mill Creek line. Ever check out Action Fish??
