ANYONE EVER USE A KMG 2X72 BELT GRINDER? I BEEN THINKING ABOUT BUYING A NEW ONE FOR MY SHOP,JUST WANTED TO HERE THE GOODS AND BADS. ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED THANKS BILL:confused:

Built like a tank. Never a problem with mine I love it. You would not go wrong in buying one. Also Rob is a great guy.

Seeing that the KMG is probably the most recommended grinder on bladeforums, it's safe to say that many of us have them. :) I believe Rob even designed it relying heavily on input from makers on this and other forums.

I love my variable speed KMG. It will last for generations and is extremely versitile. As has been said, you can't go wrong with a KMG.

Yes i have one and love it. Alot of others do too. Get variable speed and 2 HP. A very sturdy machine.

Another very happy user here. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the wide selection of attachments and the speed and ease of changing the attachments.

As well as the ease of designing and building your own attachments!

I have been using my kmg for about 7 years. No problems or complaints. I would go with a variable speed motor if you have the funds. If not you can always upgrade later.

I also have an ef-48 edge finishing grinder.

Only problem you will have with a new KMG is when you get home and see that nice big box that was delivered. You run up to it; try and pick it up and instantly give yourself a hernia!! HOLY HEAVY!! It is a SUPER grinder that is built like a TANK!! Best $$ you may ever spend for your shop.

Guys thanks for the input looks like ill be owning one shortly,i watched many videos and it just seemed so simple to use! Many thanks

Can some one go there to there site and give me a list of what id need to get started? Mostly right now to flat and hollow grind,i been using junk for years and wanted to finally invest in something worth while, lol,we all started somewere, laugh with me not at me,ive made alot of nice knives with my junk

I dont know if rob sell s the hollowgrinding attchment with elevator and hidden tang attachment. You can get then on the jantz site all said for about 500 sometimes they give discounts too. I have one I made but its not very precise so I free hand on my KMG clone. You want a 10 inch contact wheel when you buy your grinder for hollow grinds. I like the smooth and lots like the serated contact wheel but its to aggresive. JMHO

Another proud owner here. KMG with 2HP variable speed. Highly recommended.

And I agree, just email Rob and he'll set you up.
