anyone expecting zt0427? Not sure when they will release it.

This is the best design ever by ZT? Whoa!

That has to be the worst design ever by ZT. Nope not expecting it at all.

Hopefully soon, I've been excited for it since they unveiled it at BLADE. Seems to be a pretty polarizing design, most people either love it or hate it.

The more people that dislike it the easier it'll be for me to get one haha

It's funky, but in a good way. I'll never own one, but consider me a confused fan.

If you want one, more power to you and I hope you snag it. Personally, I think it's one of the ugliest knives I've ever seen come from a reputable company.

+1 to this. Love the designer, love the company but that knife is 100% "lolwut?"

Tuned Detent System.

This knife is an amazing flipper.

The blade shape is a departure for Sinkevich, as was the 456 - that one surprised me as it was a departure from the slim, pointy designs I had come to expect from Mr. Sinkevich.

Then I started following his blog and see all of the interesting things he is doing, including his knives that have the blade shape like the 427.

I think the most interesting thing for me was the TDS, cool knife.

Now to actually answer the OP - I would not expect this one until mid-summer. I don't have inside info, just knowing that they have recently put out a few LE's and now will have to be focusing on new product for 2017, and SHOT is right around the corner.

I am guessing mid to late summer.

It reminds me quite a bit of the Hogue X5 modified wharnie, but gaudier. That said, it's the kind of blade shape that I could see doing very, very well at utility tasks, it just seems...not good...on an LE that's a lot less likely to be doing those tasks than a production piece.

I love this knife and want one badly. Been a fan of the custom for a long time.

I think it's really unique and very akin to CKF designs, although purely Sinkevich.

hey Mr. Scurvy - what does Dima call that design? Any design thoughts on why the blade has the odd angle in the middle of the cutting edge or the overall design?

I think the design is meant to lend to a more straight, direct push cut, which requires less of the sway motion needed on an ordinary curve.

Like a wharncliffe straight pull cut.. in reverse. The curve is implemented into the both sides where it gets thicker then thins out moving toward choil where the momentum is pushed forward. Like the front of a boat moving forward. I've never used the knife before, so maybe not.

I do like the design a lot and think it's pretty creative in look and function.

I'm not looking forward to this design by any means, but I am looking forward to the upcoming regular production models. It seems like every year ZT comes out with at least a few must-haves or at least must-try-outs.

As other have said, mid to year end 2017. The regular production models will keep them busy from Shot Show till summers end. It's a unique design for sure, really enjoyed handling it at Blade show 2016.

Have the Sinkevich 0450 thats outstanding, functional, and is a clean design. That thing is an unmitigated mess.
