Anyone familier with the design of Ron Reils burner ?

Im working on two of them and something is odd.
Every set of plans I can find for it call for 1/8 brass fittings roughly 4"long.
Now... My father and myself are both welders and hes been working with gas fittings forever.
I keep telling him it calls for 1/8 but we both agree that none of the pictures look anything like 1/8.
3/8 - 1/4 is what it looks more like.
He swears up and down that 1/8 would be way to small to work.
To add to the mystery... Every brass fitting shop I contact says they dont carry anything as small as 1/8.
Whats going on here ?
 
Could it be 1/8 pipe thread? A 1/8 pipe (NPT) uses a tap drill that is just under 3/8" and the nominal OD is just over 3/8".

That's right, 1/8" NPT pipe is about 3/8" od.
Any hardware store that sells brass pipe fittings should have a ton of stuff in 1/8" NPT.
