Anyone get disenchanted?

I don't get disenchanted, I'm a research freak, before I spend a penny on anything I've looked up every review, talked to other people, check out someone else's so by the time I spend my money I'm sure that's what I want.

My Old Man used to always tell me buy the best you can afford even if you have to wait to save a little more money, you'll only buy once than. He was taking about tools, (he was a fleet mechanic) but it applies to knives too.

So in retrospect no, I bought my last motorcycle because I liked the model so much that when I sold it to finance a trip to Hungary for my daughter and myself when I had the opportunity to buy another bike I searched out the same model because I liked it so much.

Same thing with watches and pens, the first time around I bought the best I could afford after researching what I wanted and they still are in use and I don't look back.

Granted growing up in a salvage yard have me access to ask kinds of cars and bikes so my curiosity was satisfied early on.

Quick list that has essentially stayed the same for last 7 years.

Wheels) 2000 Ford Explorer XLT, 1985 Yamaha Venture MC.
Watch ) Citizens Eco-Drive Skyhawk
Pen ) Fisher Silver Bullet Space Pen & Schrade Tactical pen with Space Pen refill.

Some of the things I own and carry have been with me over 40 years because I choose well the first time. That's not to say that I don't make mistakes, I thought the mini disc was gonna be the new musical storage format, I was dead wrong there, I said they'd never replace albums with CDs, I was wrong there too but than again vinyl is making some type of comeback ;) maybe I wasn't wrong. :)

I try not to impulse buy and that tends to make regrets less frequent.
