Anyone got a PPT?

This thread made me realize it's been too long since I carried mine. In my pocket now. :)
Similar experience for me. I carried mine a few days ago. Very cool knife.

And to the rust, if the liners are bead blasted and it appears they are, I have had rust on other best blasted blades and components.

For me the PPT totally exceeded my expectations. I bought it originally because it was a unique looking sprint run. It turned out to be a fantastic knife in more ways than I had anticipated. It feels great in the hand, I like the low point on the blade, and it's a great slicer. Every time I use it I like it a little more.

It's a great little knife. It's a little harder to flick open because the hole is close to the pivot and recessed into the handle. Between that, the imbalance of the handle to the blade, and the deep carry being just a little too deep, those are my only nit picks and none are really that bad. They are also personal preferences. It's a really good knife and it is cool as hell every time I hold it and look at it. Having said that, it does not replace the military in my pocket unless my military needs to be sharpened, then its first on the list to carry. It's definitely an accurate slicer ready for fine work.

It's a very interesting design and it's definitely a unique addition to my collection. I really like the sculpted handles as that's not something Spyderco often does. I have the original version, BTW. However, it is seldom carried due to the weight of it. Also, the clip makes it difficult to draw from the pocket. Lockup is rock solid, and ergos and overall form are great in use however. It's somewhat like my D'allara: great in hand, but you are making some concessions to carry it.

It is a very good knife that could have been one of the best Spydercos ever. I've slightly rounded off the texture on the scales to make it easier on the pocket, slightly altered the clip end and removed a bit of steel on the inside of the back spacer (loose weight). Mine weighs 133g at the moment.

If it had a Ti lock side and unlined G10 on the other side, same clip attachment as Sacha's customs (removes the need for the heavy back spacer) it would have been perfection.

Still carry mine a lot though :D

I had one of the originals-it was my favorite folder. That deep pocket clip bent very, very easily (my only critique of the knife) and that's how I lost it. Really miss that ppt.

Same here. I liked everything about the knife but hated the clip.

I might give the PPT another shot with the DLC-coated version that came out and get someone to make a custom clip.

My PPT was stolen just over four years ago (19/08/11) when my truck was broken into

It was special knife to me because i had won it in the Spyderco forum picture contest for the 2011 calendar (september millie wheel)

I really hope the SOB who took it has cut themself bad with it in the years since.

I don't understand why the scale and liner isn't shaped lower to allow the hole to be accessed. Probably would then need to reshape the liner lock.

I still like this knife.

I'd hurry up on that. The Spring PPTs are finally drying up (at least at decent prices).
