I may need a 2-56 tap for this little friction folder project that is gaining steam. I looked at my local hardware store and they JUST sold their last 2-56 today! Doh! It will take them three weeks, at least, until they have more. Anyone happen to have one laying around that is new that I can buy from them? Or do you have a good store in town that you could pick one up for me on your next trip out there? I have a feeling this is the only place that'll have it...maybe Sears, too.

Chiro,
Check the "Suppliers List" thread. Any of the places under "Industrial Tools" will have what you are looking for. What you are looking for are pretty cheap.

Thanks for the leads. I have one or two more places to check here first. I just want to have everything together to get workingon that folder ASAP! I hate waiting! As far as price, I think the tap I could have bought here was like $2.50. Really cheap! Gotta love it!

Stihl, please chill out. You're taking this too far, okay? I didn't say that, and you are purposefully trying to get me into another fight, so please try acting like an adult if you can. As far as there only being one hardware store, there are a lot of normal hardware stores and megalomarts, but there is only one REALLY GOOD hardware store in town that I know of. LIke I said, I still have a few leads to try out here. Judging by the way the people at the store talked, it is unlikely that I'd find it in town, but maybe that's not the case. Anyway, I'm going to stop posting because now I have people purposefully trolling and trying to upset me further and it just isn't worth it. Thanks, Stihl.

Steve/Chiro,

You are confusing me dude. You e-mail me a few times to ask me about 2-56 screw since yesterday afternoon - what size drill, blah, blah, blah, blah......now I stumble across this thread. You know I didn't mind sending you free 2-56 screws for your Rekat folder, but it seems to me you are fishing for more 'free' stuff.

You even mentioned to me that the hardware store guy thought it was a 2-56 TPI screw. So he had to have had the stuff there before you e-mailed me.

You were suppose to send me some black chicago style screws several months back when I had first purchased a gray Kydex sheath from you, but you never did. BTW, I started making my own sheaths for myself and some friends. After I got your sheath and saw how it was made I figured out I could make Kydex sheaths as well.

A few e-mails later with Mike Sastre (River City Sheaths), I was on my way to making sheaths.

Don't play us for fools please.

Well, now how interesting. Seems like Chiro's mail box only has a in slot and no outslot. No wonder he gave me so much hell. Wish I would have seen these threads earlier. Seems like if a person is not giving him something he attacks them right off.

Jesus Christ, Ray. Please give me an f-ing break. TAKE THE TIME TO READ AND REREAD MY ORIGINAL POST IF YOU NEED TO!!! Several things:
1) I thought about how I was going to put the folder together, so I went to the hardware store to figure out what size those screws are. The guy used the "what nut fits" method, and came out with 2-56. This made me a bit paranoid, so when I got home, I emailed you about the size. The hardware guys were sure, but I was less than convinced. When I got a reply from you confirming this, then I had to find out if someone had a tap I could BUY from them (yes, reread the original post). While I was at the store, they told me they had, honest to God, sold their last 2-56 that same day. It would take three weeks to get another one in. So, I came here to see if anyone either a) had an extra one I could buy, b) could buy one for me while they were out and send it to me...assuming reimbursement, or c) If they had another idea.
Like I said READ MY &*^!%$! OTIGNAL POST AGAIN UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS SAYING. At no time did I ask for a tap for free. Give me a damn break.. It's a freakin' $2 tool. PLease just read the darn post again so you can see how you misunderstood what I said.
As far as the gray Kydex and the black screws, I honestly do not remember even sending the Kydex to you. I get weekly requests for those screws. I have a finite supply. I send them out when I can. if I said I was gong to send them and I forgot, then I apologize. Understand that I am seeing patients, attending 32 hours of class a WEEK, working, and taking care of a family. I do not always remember requests and sometimes need a reminder. I wish you would've brought that up months ago instead of adding salt to the wounds here. Thanks a lot, dude. If you still want the screws, email me and I'll try to get some out to you. Also, unlike 90% of the people here, I am unable to ship stuff for free from work, so I have to make a hlaf hour round trip every time I go to the post office. I'm not making excuses, but I am doing more than sitting on my ass and filling requests. It upsets me that instead of bringing this up when it was relevant you choose to join the "LEt's $hit on Steve Day" celebration. Oh
well. Just goes to show that even Internet "friendships" are short-lived, because instead of reading and understanding people are so quick to stab others in the back.
