How does it carry and perform? Edge-holding? (I think the steel is Aus-6). How good is the sheath...will it last or fall apart, and how does it secure the knife?

I hate the serrations, but I guess after a long period of use they would get sharpened down to a plain edge anyway.

I had one for about a day and sent it back. The handle was too small to really get a good grip on it and this fact, along w/ the kraton being a little slippery, did not make a good knife, especially since I got the double edged version. If you're wondering about its aptitude for handling a self defense situation, you're better off w/ a REKAT Fang or a La Griffe, they're both worth the extra bucks. As far as edge holding goes, I didn't have it long enough to beat the hell out of it, but it did shave hair quite readily, and the serrations cut through paracord rather nicely. As for the sheath, it was very secure, but TOO secure. It took one helluva tug to get the damn thing out! Besides that, forget about it being a low profile knife, the sheat is of a sandwich construction, and the mold is such that it surrounds the guard, making it too thick to wear inconspicuously. I'm not sure if you were asking questions with respect to the answers I've given, but I hope this helps nonetheless. All in all, I wouldn't recomment this knife for any serious use, utility or self defense.

It is the first neck knife I tried. I bought it because it was cheap and I wanted to see if neck carry could be comfortable. IMO its a decent little light duty work knife. The handle is a little small, but as I said, it was cheap. If I had known I liked neck knives so much I would have gone straight to the Rekat like I ended up getting anyway.

I would have to agree with the above posts, Thrawn mirrored my thoughs exactly. Go for a REKAT while you still can, you won't be disapointed.

Take care,
Tom

I have found mine (double edged) to be a really decent little neck knife in all respects,if you can hold onto the small handle.Mine fits the sheath just right. It comes very sharp, but I haven't really cut with it,so don't now about holding and edge.In the price range, look at the new CRKT Bear Claw with plain blade. That thing is very wicked!(and no, I don't really think it's a ripoff of the Perrin!)

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

My idea about a Para-edge are really for wear while I'm sitting in the car, or to have one on my as a spare knife. I have a CRKT Bear Claw which I like a lot...for defensive use it would be wicked in close and almost impossible to disarm. However, for me, the Bear Claw is a bit thick and heavy to wear on my neck...might look at a REKAT or even just get one of the Para-edges too. I'm just starting to become interested in neck knives now. I doubt the Pare-edge would be very great in a defensive situation, but if I got one it would be used only for pocket knife-like chores.

The Paraedge is a good handy knife for a decent price. (Especially the one I have 4 sale!)

The rubber grips allows for a secure draw as it does require a good tug to get it out of the sheath. But nothing a light lube can' t fix. Just apply a bit around its "guard". The serrations can really cut strappng tape, cardboard, twine, rubber tubes, and can even perform delicate tasks such as cutting out your favorite magazine articles and coupons. Tactical? Not really. Convenient? Yes.
