Anyone have a Hogue Extrac XL yet?

I made a fast and dirty dropper for the sheath on the Backpacker and let my son wear the Hogue so they both get some use. The CRK kydex sheath fits the knife perfectly and has an adjustment for retention. No belt attachment was provided but that is fine as everybody that does provide one either gives you a poor one or makes it so the handle of the knife is above my belt line which is uncomfortable in a car, climbing on stuff, etc.

The Hogue came with a rather disappointing blade cover and no sheath so I made one. After looking closely at the CRK kydex, I am going to modify the sheath I made for the hogue to be more like the CRK sheath.

We started making a small Bushcraft type shelter my son wanted. The knives were used for cutting rope, shaping sticks and holding up the ridge pole.

Both performed very well. The Hogue is thinner, both blade and handle. They are very close in size, weight and how they feel but the wider, rounder grip of the CRK is easier on the hands if you are cutting hard.
