I have one of the Traser compasses and it's an nice piece of equipement and rather futuristic with the fixed streamlined prisma on top.
It has no base plate and no moving ring and no declination correction.
Even in pitch darkness you can see acurately the direction you are going and taking a bearing is also easy. The prisma makes taking a reading very precise (1 degree even 1/2 an degree).
The one I have for testing from Traser was a (pre)early production model which still has Israelian inscriptions on the back, as it was from an overrun for the Army of Israel.
Nice piece of equipement, I would however also love to see them make a "trasered" Silva/recta plate compass.
I know they exsist because they are included in our F16 pilots survival equipment.
