I saw one in a gunshop today. I like the size and ergonomics of the thing, but the safty operated way to easily and the front sight pin seemed to small (short).

Also on AR15.com there seems to be alot of quality control problems mentioned. I'm wondering when all the bugs will be worked out. If anyone has one let me know what you think.Patrick

I don't own one, but I put about 200 rounds through one recently. I liked it. Very light, super accurate. Ugly gun and it feels strange and cheap with all the lightweight plastics, but so did Glock's when I first saw them. At the right price I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, but I think I will wait until the price setttle down and there are some used ones floating around. Armalite has excellent reputation and I am sure any bugs in the gun will be worked out and taken care of even if it needs a retro fit. The problem with the gun is that most people already have AR's or would prefer the more tested and true AR10/15 platform. With the prices coming down on almost every brand of AR's, the AR-180b would have to significantly less expensive than typical AR15. I also have fired one of the original AR-180's made by Sterling, and I would say the newer version is far superior IMHO. Price, weight and accuracy are its strengths and I think it will be around a long time. My only real design gripe is the non removeable (unless you cut the barrel) intergal muzzle break, makes the gun too loud and isn't needed. Here is the best review I have read on it:

I really liked the way the rifle felt, and I didn't mind the way it looked either. I'll probably wait though, the thought of having to send a rifle back to the manufacturer for warrenty work really bugs me.Patrick
