Anyone have any experience with this knife?

For that kind of cash you could pick up the Spyderco Southfork. Not a knife I'd necessarily beat on, but one with absolute top of the line steel and wicked cutting geometry.

If you're looking for something to really beat on, maybe check out some similarly sized Beckers, Swamp Rats or Scrap Yards. Or look for someone working with 3V.

BePrepared, after studying your chart and considering your comments, the Nyala looms large on my horizon... thanks for your insight, and thanks to you all.

Beat on might be an overstatement... but I certainly would not want to hold back if I needed (or wanted to)--the Nyala makes me hesitate just a little in that regard--but I shouldn't! I've got to get over that--or so I think. I'm not planning an all-out survivalist adventure, but on a hike, excursion, etc, I want to be able to use the knife without thinking omg... did I hurt it (ridiculous, I know)...

For the money, i'd say it's a MUCH better choice than the one you asked about originally.

of course, i'm still partial to Bussekin, but CRK makes some excellent cutlery

Fanglekai, that looks like a beast; if I go in that direction though I'd probably buy the rodent 6--I like the handle a little better. BePrepared--agreed.
