Anyone have experience with Microtech's Bead Blast?

A few days ago I noticed a crazy low priced Whaleshark in CTS-204P on the 'bay, and even though it was the bead blasted version, I snapped it up. I figured when I bought it that I could just polish the bead blast off a la Kershaw's. Fast forward to today, some Mother's Mag Polish and elbow grease later, and the blade looks identical. I tried it with my cheap Kershaw Nerve, and the bead blasting came off almost immediately. Is there a difference in the quality of the bead blast that is preventing it from being polished off on the Whaleshark? Or does it have something to do with the differences in steels? I was hoping that someone who is more knowledgeable about the subject could chime in, or anyone that has had a bead blasted Microtech before.

Your input is much appreciated.
