Anyone have issues with their Wave models???

My problem is I can't get it to "wave" back into my pocket. I have all kinds of scars and ripped pants pockets from trying.

Holy cow. Sorry to hear about the accident! That sounds awful. But I've been carrying wave models for a long time, and I actually think the wave on the Spyderco delica and endura work better than that on some of the Emerson knives. (For example, I would often get a bad deployment with the CQC14 and SOFCK-A.) But the delica and endura were always very consistent for me.

I also picked up trainers for both which helped me to learn to use the wave feature before trying with the live blade without the risk of cutting myself. Now, it seems to be second nature. But I do understand what you mean about different pocket shapes. For some chinos, you really need to pull up and back to get it to deploy properly. It's mainly a training issue, but who really wants to train for each pair of pants they own?

So I really hope that I don't have an accident like that. I'll need to continue to be careful.

Try a new knife they said...it'll be fun they said...

Yeah I just think it was some perfect timing on my end. New pants, new function of blade deployment and the keys getting in the mix. Should probably add in there somewhere that I'm clearly of stupid.

Ouch. Anyone who plays with blades long enough eventually gets nicked.
Take care.

Hi Modestglock.

Sorry 'bout your cut. It's always a concern when dealing with making knives as sharp as we can and yet this can cause accidents.

I hope it heals quickly.

It's all healed up now...minus the nerve damage since I sliced one. Stitches are gone, but the right half of my finger is pins and needles 24/7 and when I stretch my arm out fully extended and raise my palm to a 90 degree angle the pain drops me.

Lesson learned.

Thanks and I think I'm probably one of few who have had this happen. The Endura was a beautiful blade, but after the bad juju I had to part ways.

I'm thinking a non wave version is in my near future, if not a Delica for sure.

I love my waved Endura 4, best knife to carry (that I own). I've never had problems carrying it in the front pocket of slacks or jeans. Although the only other thing I carry in my knife pocket is a thin wallet so I'm probably safe. Sounds like it's a good idea to avoid keys and clips in the same pocket.

Yeah the keys were on my carabiner hanging from a belt loop and not in the pocket with the knife. They were just hanging close enough to the pocket clip to set the wheels in motion.
