Anyone have regrets regarding Busse Knives, ones they didn't purchase or ones they had and let go?

My first Busse was a Basic 9 that I used extensively and traded off :( after I got my Battle Mistress. :( :(

Man, did I learn a lesson from that "Don't ever let any of my Busse's go" Never again will I do that.

I suppose I will also have regrets for not picking up that LMS Proto that Brian_T has for sale, I would love to have that one. ;) :D

Anyone else have something that they let go, or didn't get and now wish they had it?

Yeah Eric, I let one go. When I went looking for my Badger Attack, I hit all the dealers on the net that I could find that sold Busse knives.

Well I found one dealer who said he had a Steel Heart II and a Battle Mistress coming in sometime. He wasn't sure if they would be the straight handled one or one of Busse's new designs. I told him I wasn't really interested. I wanted a Badger. But, I left my email with him.

So, I finally tracked down a Badger. Dave Roberson told me a Andre Dumochel (sp?? sorry Andre) might have one in stock. So I email Andre.
He had one Badger left. I took it!!!!!!

So, I get my Badger and I fall in love with it. (I hope that don't sound weird)

I get an email from this other dealer that the Steel Heart II came in and he would give me 1st crack at it. I took it!!!!! Then he goes on to say that he has one straight handled Battle Mistress left that came in with the Steel Heart. He wanted to know if I wanted it. I thought to myself, what in the world would I want with a knife that big for???? Told him I would take the Steel Heart, but wasn't interested in the Battle Mistress.:o :o :o

Now I could kick myself!!!!!
So, that is my story. Hope I didn't bore anybody!!:(

Yours in Nuclear Stupidity!!!!

I miss my Straight Handled Badger. But I have the only two Busse knives a man needs to survive my Straight Battle Mistress and my ZT Satin Jack. I wish I had a Busse folder so I could stop carrying my sebenza. Not that there is anything wrong with the sebie.:p

Eric,
I have no regrets as I have never sold any of my knives, and somehow
So fat, I've never pased on Busses that I wanted :)
Though there are quite a few blades that I really wish I've had.
Once or twice I was late, sometimes I saw them when it was already too late etc :(
In short I think there has to be something like the ones that you've mossed or saw to late type question too.

Well Guys,
I guess misery loves company, I'm glad I'm not the only one to sell one and later regret it. :(

Gator,
Tell me more, which ones have you missed because you were late and they already sold?

Sigh... Jungle Assault, 2 other bolos, SH spearpoint variant that Chip has ;)

Passed on a LMS. The ex got the MS in the divorce and now I can't get another one. Man, I really liked that knife:D

Maybe I shouldn't have started this thread. Now I feel even worse about the ones I have passed up or sold. :(

From now on I will buy them and worry about the consequences later :D :D

I should have bought more straight handles, especially the presentation grades, to store and stare at or resell [depending on how many I bought]. Now I feel guilty using them, but that's why I bought them, dammit.

I passed on one of the 1997 Blade Show Limited Edition BM's this past summer, (1 of 500) and now I can't find the email.

Sold a couple straight handle BM's to get a custom Emerson...
Big mistake.

Chuck,
Rereading this thread, I realize that lately I don't fall into the "wished I bought one and didn't" group. I've been buying a lot lately.

I hope my wife doesn't read this forum from work. ;):D

I passed on a NO here on the forums. Had the $$. Later I decided I wanted it. Came back about two hours later and it was gone. Just too slow. Now I don't have the $$. I still have yet to buy my first Busse, but I will before too long.

I've more than regreted parting with some of my Mistresses, can't look back and be depressed though, there are plenty more out there still looking for a good home :)

I sometimes regret breaking my straight handle gig when I sold Mike my BM and traded off my 5/16" A2 Badger.

One thing I really regret more is all the vacilating I did when there was a flood of variants after the 2000 Blade Show. I didn't get a grab a single one:(
