Did a search but didnt get much info. I ordered one and i have never cared for anything over a 6in blade but something about .33 thickness and the price i fell for it.

I have two, yes. I like them very very much and have no intentions of selling them. For as thick and powerful a blade as they are, they feel (IMO) to be very ergonomic and very balanced/light for what they bring to the table.

Got mine today:D:thumbup:
It is very much improved from the TT edition.
Is there any Rat with 5/16 sr101?
The top spine is smooth and rounded, nicely done!
The very definition of blade heavy.....

Everyone keeps saying they feel it's blade heavy but I really don't. I found the balance point of mine to be just below the bottom of the choil. It's a TAD leaning on the blade side but not really as much as every says, in my opinion at least.

Blade heavy to me is something like the chopweiler or battle rat or something.

Are they in stock and ship pretty quick? I ordered mine Friday night and was hoping it might ship this week.

They are are in stock. I ordered mine on the night of march 4th. Got it today. But It was one of the first to order.

Nope. Not yet. I've got 7 Busse-kin blades on order right now. Waaaay too many. LOL

(Got a Regulator AND a DeRegulator. Not sure which I'd like better.)

I got one last week--

It is NOT blade heavy--nor is it a very good chopper.

It has an EXCELLENT Hardcore point that looks like it would pierce a TANK.

Would make a great Pig Killing blade--or a Blade you expected to do a lot of Prying with the tip.

But do not get one thinking it's a good chopper.

I agree that it's not a great chopper. I didn't find it to be awful, but it didn't bite nearly as hard as some of my other blades did.

that being said, if I want a chopper, a combat style knife isn't going to be what I reach for. Given it's design and styling, it chops fine enough for what it is.

Funny, I thought it looks like the tip would be the most vulnerable part on the knife.

Sure is stabby though.

My SOD's tip is much more substantial for prying...I know that. And I think it is a much better chopper too (though I have yet to go out and beat on the Reg...)

It is one heck of a beast and a great value. I prefer the original TT versions as a Combat/Fighter/Defense type knife. For that purpose very difficult to beat it IMO. The TT version just has a much better feel and I like the flat grind better. Now we have the LE which " appears" to be be the TT with an LE finish. For a chopper I will stick with the DFLE over most anything.

None of the comments in this thread surprises me. The Regulator began life as a fighter . . . pure and simple. And at 14.5 oz, the Test Team Regulator was a great fighter . . . incredibly well-balanced and quick in the hand. But based on the feedback he received from the Test Team and his comments prior to the release, it appears that Dan decided to try to turn the Regulator into a chopper. After all, how many civilians need a fighter? As some have noted, however, far more effective chopper designs exist than a 7.5"-long, 1/3"-thick, 16 oz Bowie with an extended clip-point blade.

While some may find the Military Regulator's compromise between a fighter and a chopper appealing, the knife is neither here nor there for me. It's too blade heavy to be a good fighter and too thick and narrow to be a good chopper. The only thing I find appealing about it is its price.

The Regulator LE is a different story, however. As Bob mentioned, it seems to be a resurrected Test Team Regulator with a satin finish. If that's the case, then as far as I'm concerned, it's the knife the Regulator was meant to be all along . . . a FIGHTER! And if it's priced right, it's a must have for Bussekin fighter afficianados who don't already have a Test Team Regulator. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!  My only regret is that it will probably never see the light of day in the Scrap Yard store. :(
