Frankly, the khukuris don't really
need to be re-edged. It's just a performance enhancement and a choice people need to make for themselves.
I do it because there's no way I'll go back to not having one - on a user khuk, that is.
Consider my 22" GRS. Without a convex edge, the edge was destroyed with heavy chopping. With a convex edge, it hasn't even rolled or become dull. Like I said, if you intend to use 'em - you should consider it.
I only requested villagers so that folks wouldn't feel "put-out" in case I screwed up. As far as I can tell, I didn't screw up...
Anyway, I do believe that any khukuri would benefit from having a convex edge for 2 reasons alone:
1 - edge sharpness and durability
2 - ease of sharpening.
Yes! Ease of sharpening!
Just takes sandpaper and elbow grease.
