Anyone have the low down on Microtech?

LRRP from SOFKnives had a picture of the prototype up in a post and when I went to get the link for ya he edited it out and now is saying Tony wants it kept underwraps Sorry :(

Makes me glad I already got mine...:)

HAve a Socom Elite M/A PE stonewashed and an Amphibian M/A PE Stonewashed as two of my EDC favs. Got a Socom Elite Tactical M/A and a Vector M/A stashed in the safe as well...:)

I don't get to gloat often.

Here are pictures of the Prototype fixed blades compliments of The Bright Edge:

Production dates and street prices of these knives are still unknown.

Here is my personal favorite. This prototype has been around for alittle while but I still can't get over it. This one is made from one solid piece of titanium.

I don't believe this one will never see full production. But the above two most likely will.

I wish they would do another run of full size SOCOM elites, man I would kill for one of those. It is difficult for me to get hold of a knife in England when it is not currently in production

I've a chance to snag a SOCOM and Kestrel in a trade. Never even seen a MT before. Seeing this tread it seems MT's are held in high regard. How do these compare with say Benchmade or Reeves? Any advice welcome - thanks!

I believe MT is almost on par with Chris Reeve and that's high praise cause I think his knives are simply awesome.

I believe MT's are better than Benchmade.

You will be pleasantly surprised the first time you open a MT auto. But hold on tight...;)

No manuals? I guess I'm weird, I don't really like autos that much.

From what I understand the Manual Framelock Mini Socom Elites are still coming, but it will still be alittle wait. They are still working on cranking out allot of there other new high end knives like the Terzuola, Makoras and like. So with those on the block, these Limited Editions, and the fixed blades, I would say its not very accurate to say MT is giving up the manual market.

Loki,

Microtech is indeed held in high esteem, at least in this household. I would say IMHO they are head and shoulders above a Benchmade and a 941D2CF is one of my favorite EDC folders. Comparing to Chris Reeves is something else entirely. The fit and finish seem to be about equal, although I love Titanium and frame locks and Microtech does neither. A small Sebenza is one of my all time favorites, although I haven't been able to come to grips with the large ones yet. The thumb stud placement doesn't allow me to open them easily. It's not that I have small hands, it a geometry thing to me. I carry a Microtech Socom Elite M/A and a M/A Amphibian all the time and both are as large or larger than a large Sebenza.

Pretty hard to go wrong with Microtech.

Hey Steelfury,

If you act quickly, there seems to be a couple M/A Socom Elites in the Production knifes for sale by individuals forum in the exchange right now (not by me, I'm not parting with mine). That Tactical version is especially sweet. I have one of those too...:)
