Anyone have their tube fasteners bend?

Knifeland is going full blown insane!
I think I'll try to baton a piece of rebar.

Why haven't I thought of that? I wanted to try to chop down a bridge once but the water was too cold. Rebar is pretty soft...hmmm
:o)

What's the procedure to remove the tubes and where do you get the new fasteners?

Pretty easy to remove. Clamp the blade down to keep it, and you safe. You don't want the blade to spin around under the force of the drill. Don't laugh, people here have been hurt that way. Use a 1/4" drill bit to drill the inside shoulder of the tube. Done.

Sory, can't help with the fasteners.

Yeah, I use a drill press and as mentioned above always secure your blade. I get my fasteners from knifekits.com and I get the longer ones so the tubes show through on either side. I didn't like the screws the had so I went to fastenal and got some 8/32 hex screws. I'll post pics and links as soon as I can.
