first post in the spyderco forum, so forgive me if this is an old model. but just saw this on tadgear, and thought it was kinda cool. a bit odd looking, especially the threaded wave, but i like the blade shape.

Its the standard Spyderco ball bearing lock with a plastic cage to allow for easier operation

I have one. Do a search as there have been several discussion on this knife here. It is an excellent knife. Built for self defense to be used in reverse grip edge in but also is comfortable in different grips. Not sure if it is the best knife for day to day use as it was designed solely for one purpose but the removable wave, and encased BB lock make it an advanced design with new features and one that I just couldn't pass on since I do also like fighting folders.

I have one. For me, it's the best implementation of the ball lock yet. I can actually release it 100% reliably, something I could not do with the uncaged ball. The knife itself is very well made, but not something I would ever carry or use. If you are trained in the style of knife fighting it is designed for, or want to learn it, then it would certainly be worth considering. If you want it just for the "cool factor", as more of a toy than a tool, then again it might be worth buying. But, as a practical tool for cutting something other than human flesh, it's a fairly poor choice. Just about any other Spyderco with a blade of similar size is better suited for general use.

If you do purchase it, be sure to find out the proper way to carry and draw it. I made a wrong guess based on the way the clip was mounted, and wound up learning just how easily it slices cloth and flesh. :o

Ok, i guess i may not be getting it today... UPS misrouted the package. It went to the destination hub, then went through to another hub. So much for paying the extra for 3 day shipping in hopes of getting it before the weekend...

I've got one, and it's a great knife, not just for the SD it was designed for. Run a search on the other Spyderco forum, I did a review on it a couple weeks ago.

IF that happened, call the place you purchased it from and than have them contact UPS. They should refund you money for the shipping. That happened to me before and it arrived 1 day late due to UPS and the palce I purchased it from refunded my whole shipping.

The knife is a pretty neat, it takes a little bit to get use to for having the "reverse" wave on it. Its neat and is very smooth. I only played with it for about 5 minutes or so at the local store.
