Anyone heard from Drew AKA Corduroy?

I wonder if he made the move to the mountains yet and if anyone else is waiting for work from him?

He's my only hope for ever owning a Benchmade again.

Ross mentioned that he was in touch with him. See his thread in the for sale forums about a Gleason custom for sale.

Copfish

I talk to him some days ago about the my knife I had sent him. He said mine was his top priority and he sent pics of what he has done.

He hadn't moved to the mountains yet. Not sure when but he said my knife will definetly be done before then. (hopefully)

ARRRRGGGGGHH!! I am still waiting for Drew to finish my knife.I sent my BM Brend about 12 months ago!I also have recently spoken with him and he said MY knife was his top priority! He also said that it would be finished this month before he moves but since he has not replied to my last 2 e-mails I am having serious doubts. This is really starting to get to me,especially when I see posts like Ross T`s.

Ross,I`ve been thinking about what he told me.What he said was that he had 1 more knife to finish, then mine would get all his attention. My bad.Presumably, that knife is the one he is doing for you unless there are others out there waiting. My fear is that if he moves before he finishes my Brend I`ll end up waiting even longer then I already have.I have been extremely patient. In fact this is the first time I`ve gone public with my concerns about my arrangement with Drew.I don`t know of anyone else that has been waiting 12 months.Presumably Drew has access to a computer as he has sent you scans of your knife,so I see no reason that my e-mails are going unanswered.I have his phone number and I hate calling people and hounding them at home but I guess thats what I`ll have to start doing.

Well, last I heard from him, he was going to ship my knife on 06/19/00, nothing yet. He has had it quite a while (18+ months) but what really ticks me off, is when you say you are going to do something on XX date, do it! I would not mind, if he said by June of 2002... vent mode off...

I've been waiting longer than 12 months and my concerns were I was never contacted. I understand if things come up, job change, health problems, sick member in the family those reasons come up in everyones lives and disrupts everyones normal patterns.

But like I brought up before it concerned me that he has our phone numbers, snail mail addresses, email addresses it would have been nice to have at least gotten word that there will be a delay. Maybe a little word of encouragement that he was still up to the job. Heck anything! But it was all of us who pretty much had to find and get a hold of him to get the news of what's going on that made me a little paranoid about the whole deal.

When I did finally get a hold of him. I got what I wanted. An apology and an explanation of what all has been done and an expected NEW date of arrival. Which should be soon......very soon. I got to speak to him and hearing his voice telling me he was working on it and getting it done was all I wanted to hear. How long would that have taken to jot down that message in email? A letter addressed to my home? A message on my answering machine? Not long at all.

I still can't wait to recieve my knife with the modifications I wanted. But this whole ordeal has left me weary about getting another knife modified up. I too had a lot of other knives I was going to trick out to make them more visually enticing <sp?> but now have given up on the idea and sold a lot of them.

Thanks
Ross T.

P.S.I'll post on when I recieve my piece.

P.S.S One more thing if anybody out there wants a Gleason knife please check out the one I have for sale in the "FOR SALE forum" It is a nice piece and if the quality of that knife is the same quality of the knife I will get back (soon!) I'll be very happy. I just see other knives now that I really want and need the $. (advertisement mode: off)

I can't believe this hasn't been totally resolved yet. Drew needs to either come back and make up for all of this, (by devoting his time to making all our dreams come true

) or he needs to tell us he's burned out, and not take anymore orders. Come on Drew...insert your long awaited reply below.

I am really disressed that this is still happening. When I last talked to him, when he called me to tell me my knife was being sent to G2, he said copfish's knife would be sent out that week. He had moved his equipment to his girlfriend's so he could get it all finished.
Sorry guys. Good luck.

So it looks like there are 3 of us still waiting.Did your knife make it to G2,Bill?Knowing that his equipment is no longer 100 miles from him makes me feel somewhat better.
