Anyone heard of or dealt with...

Please read the rules for the general knife discussion forum. We do not use it for dealer reviews since it is for the discussion of knives.

Thank you.

Bastid..

I didn't explain myself fully when I posted in General. I should asked about the quality of the damascus as opposed to quality of dealer. I screwed up. Thanks for straightening me out....I appreciate y'alls time and try not to waste it. Again, I apologize and will attempt to engage brain before engaging fingers..

Karda,

Thank you for the input. In your opinion is the Indian Damascus a good enough steel for a knock around fixed blade?
I don't chop trees down with my knives and I'm to old and fat to snoop and poop anymore. So ...the knife would just be a user on a
farm, so to speak.

Thanks again for "fixing" me.

God Bless

Thats the thing, Lee.... Some of it may make a decent knife. Some of it won't take an edge or hold it to save it's (or yours) life.
That is why it is sold so cheaply. Alot of it is made with "mystery" steels and you never know what you're gonna get. That being said you may get lucky and get a blade that will work for your uses.

Karda, Thanks

I'm dense as a rock at times and today is the day....That was exactly what I needed to hear.

Buy you a beer next time you're around Arabi, Ga.

God Bless

A lot of the Indian and Pakistani damascus on the market is too low in carbon to be heat-treated. It looks pretty, but it's mild steel.
