Anyone here have to explain why you are carrying 5 blades? Got stories?

Well, if I was telling the truth about why I had five knives on me, I would say I was really bad at deciding which knife to leave home. I have trouble carrying only one knife, because I will be thinking about ones I left at home. It is almost as hard as choosing which of five beautiful, fun, friendly women to hang with, when none of them mind sharing with the others, why pick just one? ;)

I have the same thing going on all the time.

I usually have about 5 folders on me. Normally all traditional slip joints.

But often a fixed blade, and a more locking folder.

Only 5?? ;)

Do you really carry all that every day,or was this just for the sake of thread and humor?

Partly both. I don't often, but on occasion. By now I'm probably a very interesting story for a cop or two. Usually it'll be around 7 to 9, I'd say that's a medium loadout. Any less than 2 or 3 (parish the thought!) and I'm naked.

Anyways, it's not a particular compulsion. I go places without knives and can do without them, but don't like to (as I'm sure most here don't either). I just really love knives.

Additionally, all of the knives I carry are within legal limit. I'm not huge on not getting to carry my larger knives but I have a healthy distrust of LEOs in the immediate vicinity.

No, why would anyone know how many knives (or guns) I have on my person unless I volunteer that information?

That's also a great point. Didn't state earlier but I don't advertise how many knives I carry (or gun, for that matter). Aside from the leather sheath, generally the others on the belt or in the pocket are not readily known. Another reason I carry folders in pouches, not with pocket clips.
